RE: ADSactly Sports - Violence in sports. When is it too much?

in #sports7 years ago

Violence in sports have been accepted by the society since ancient times. This is the dark mark of humanity that we are yet to get rid of. Something that should have been done away a long time ago but somehow it still lives and breathes in our culture.

I am referring to the the unnecessary display of aggression and violence and not the competitive friction between to competing opponents.

But my worry is of a different nature. Some sports are meant to contain an element of violence in them. For me that is actually fine. What worries me more is that this violence rather than being controlled is actually fueled as the viewers egg the athletes on. The problem is not just with the sport but with the viewership as well.

It’s true. Sports has been built around agression and as humans we are drawn to it.
