Luck VS Judgement - A Trixie Challenge - Day 13

in #sports6 years ago

What a week to be alive. The sun is shining, the evenings are getting longer, summer is on the way and I am in the last throes of my latest London sojourn.

From a sports point of view there is also much to be excited about. The Premier League, for example returned with a bang this weekend. Wins for Saints (get-in) and Burnley condemned Huddersfield to a relegation that looked a certainty even before a ball was kicked. At the top of the table Liverpool kept their title hopes alive thanks to a Toby Alderweireld own goal against Spurs. City breezed past Fulham on Saturday and a win for Arsenal tonight will lift them into an unlikely third place.

In horse racing only the Grand National remains before we can turn our attention to the flat season proper. And of course, we’re still here. Good old Luck vs spurious Judgement, less a battle of wits and more brace of twits.

Judgement took the honours on Saturday, getting a couple of places but that failed to recoup the £2 stake. I am ahead but it’s so tight and I have not exactly covered myself in glory. Last night’s picks were done in a hurry as I focus on more pressing research, not that it seems to matter... maybe horse racing is not my calling after all?

Here’s me old mucker, @happyaslarry on today’s choices:

”From a very tired me, these selections are on a theme with what I go for. Gold and Royal(e) being my go to due to previous total luck with those names. And I didn’t want to miss out on Klopp after yesterday’s drama. 50p trixie returns £55.55 - has a nice ring to it!”

Ahead is ahead Marcus, doesn't matter how small the margin is!
If one of the ponies does win with the smallest margin possible, it is a win! And remember only 5% of the bettors out there do have a positive margin!
Good luck,
Peter

I am marginally ahead of @happyaslarry who is effectively sticking pins in the phone book!!! I am way behind on overall P/L!! One day I’ll be a greener!
