Luck VS Judgement - A Trixie Challenge - Day 17
A day that promised so much ultimately led to nothing yesterday as both Luck and Judgement failed to capitalise on winning starts.
Mininggold took first place in the 16:00 at Southwell for Luck but sadly he was on a win only bet so his place later on meant another day of zero returns. My first pick also won, Supasundae taking the days feature race at Aintree, but sadly the final two horses weren’t able to back up that win.
However, as always there is no time to feel sorry for oneself in Trixieland and a new day brings new promise. Luck has pulled three big prices out of the ether this afternoon while I have been forced to take a couple of prices that are shorter thank I would normally like. Will anyone win any money? Can Luck turn things around and prove Judgement a fraud? Will anyone manage to back more than a single winner on one of these things? Does anyone actually care? Find out tomorrow, same time, same place!
Here are the thoughts of @happyaslarry as Luck vs Judgement rounds the bend and makes for home:
”If ever there was a lucky day, it was yesterday. I won on the premium bonds - £25, wahey! And as I gathered my stuff to leave the train, there staring at me was a shiny pound coin! As the train drew in I realised I didn’t buy a parking ticket. I watched nervously as the train slowly drew in and my car came into view, and there stuck to the windscreen was...nothing! £60 saved! That balanced out my zero return for a win and a place, having done win only on my trixie! Luck, stay with me today, I need you more than ever!”
