Luck VS Judgement - A Trixie Challenge - Day 5

in #sports6 years ago

There have been a couple of hollow victories this week and none feels more lacking in substance than the one I enjoyed yesterday. Yes, for the first time on Luck vs Judgement, there was a sighting of that rarest of beasts, actual cash money returns!

Ok, so I know thirty-eight new pence is really nothing to shout about but what if, hey? What if Baratineur hadn’t been a non-runner at Chepstow? What if Night of Sin hadn’t turned out to be such a poorly selected, three-legged-donkey?? Well the fact is that I could sit around here what-iffing for a month of Sundays and it wouldn’t change a god-damned thing. Bad horses are bad horses, bad selections are just that. Luck might be able to point at misfortune, cry into his milk, so on and so forth but I am the mighty Judgement, king of the betting forest. I can do better, I will do better.

Starting today there is a change of attitude, a new optimistic broom has swept throughJudgement Towers. Today I stride into my metaphorical office with a bag of croissants for the hypothetical staff. I tip a wink and give a smile to my make-believe-secretary, I clap Imaginary-George, just two days from retirement on the back and tell him to take the afternoon off, go play golf, see the kids, get shitfaced at a lap dancing club, I don’t care what you fucking do George, just take the bastard afternoon off.

Today is a new day, the first day of a bright future, and I am back to my roots chasing each way money in races where the top three is a distinct possibility. Let’s make today a winning day, let’s stick it to the bookies and show Luck who’s the boss around here.

A change in approach from Luck today, here’s @happyaslarry on today’s picks:

”Today is more about feeling drawn to certain horses. Names are coincidental, Ok, except for larry!”

As I sit munching a bacon roll and waiting for a call to start, I stare out at Buckingham Palace Road and just know today is a lucky day! Bring it on!

Yup, couldn’t agree more! Can’t believe you skipped Donnas Dream though!!
