McIIroy Vs. McIIroy

McIIroy is blocking McIlroy’s path. He admits as much. The 28-year-old knows he has to free up and let it happen. But he is also aware that time is not his friend this season. The broken rib he sustained before his first event in January wrecked his early campaign.

Suiting courses ahead

This spell does excite him, however, and that is understandable. Nobody should be surprised if he dramatically turns it around here at Dundonald this week, regardless of a field containing Rickie Fowler, Henrik Stenson and Adam Scott. This course should suit, as should Birkdale next week and he is a past winner at Quail Hollow, the venue for next month’s USPGA.

Talking the talk is one thing, but McIlroy appreciates this is the moment he needs to step up.

“The game’s close,” McIlroy said. “It’s hard to sit up here and say to you every time ‘it’s close,’ because I sound like a broken record. I’m realistic that I need to see it happen sooner rather than later.”

get on with it Rory!

This weekend we'll soon find out??

Personally I think he's done a 'Woods' but would be happy if proved wrong.
