Ronaldo gets hefty fine for tax evasion

Cristiano Ronaldo will be fined 3.2 million euros ($3.7 million) and condemned to two years in jail, a sentence he is probably not going to serve, subsequent to settling a tax avoidance case with Spanish assessment experts, the prosecutor said on Friday.

The 33-year-old is blamed for dodging 5.7 million euros in charges. He has denied the charges.

Ronaldo is probably not going to go to jail as Spanish law expresses a sentence of under two years for a first offense can be served on post trial supervision.

The football star will be required to pay the 3.2-million-euro fine in addition to the 5.7 million euros in back expenses, 1 million euros in gathered intrigue and 250 euros-per-day for the four years covering the jail sentence.

This sum is probably going to be just piece of the striker's fines over the case, which are relied upon to ascend to around 19 million euros altogether.

    I read that he will pay about $22 million in back taxes and fines. The funny thing is that he has not commented on this topic, but instead, he posted a photo with his girlfriend on vacation. :)
