RE: Sportstalk: Some Thoughts on Content Quality

Some solid points, well stated :)

We aren't all professional writers but effort is something that will always be applauded. Posting a link to a news update with a single sentence of your own words doesn't, in my opinion, deserve huge rewards. In many ways, I'd consider this to be spam even though it is technically on-topic.

I could have picked a number of paragraphs out but I think this one is key. Not everyone is a good writer, but everyone can put in effort.

If new arrivals see huge rewards on something described above, it will be a really negative force.

Hopefully we can get the community on the same track with these thoughts moving forward.

I sure hope so. As I mentioned in the comment above, we really don't want to see hyper-inflated whales upvoting their own trash posts multiple times per day.

For sure. I'm OK with a post or two and even self-voting it, but for the sake of the community some visible effort would be good!

I am glad to be here, seems to be doing it right and not being all vague and secretive (cough) ;)
Great place this Sportstalk, a really nice mix of people and topics !
