Philippine Tennis team, aiming 2 gold medals in the upcoming 2019 SEA Games
The Philippine Tennis Association (PhilTA) is confident that the performance of the players that will be playing in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) Games that will be held in November will be much better and stronger.
In an interview with Bombo Radyo, PhilTA vice president Martin Misa said they are looking forward to extending the two silver medals they have won in the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia. In fact, most of their players in the men's team are currently in other countries participating in different tournaments. While the women's team is scheduled to leave for Malaysia on Monday, they will be hosting the $ 20,000 tournament in the said country.
In August the national team will also be visiting Amsterdam to play club tournaments as part of the training for the regional sports meet, with the help of some private sponsors and the Philippine Sports Commission.
According to Misa, in the five events that the Philippines will join in the Manila SEA Games, they intend to win two gold medals.
