Liverpool - Manchester United (Post match)
The rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United will live for years to come because it didn't start today. It's been there right from time.
On Sunday, the 20th of October 2019 Liverpool traveled down to Old Trafford for the week 9 of the premier league match.
That match was the most important game of that week. If Manchester united had secured victory at old Trafford it would have been a morale booster for them because Liverpool have played 8 matches before that game and Liverpool won them all. If Liverpool had won away, it will be real threat to the defending champion (Mancity) and other title contenders as they will be leaders with eight points clear off other clubs.
Manchester united received a team booster as Goalkeeper David De Gea returned back to the goal post after sustaining an injury during the international break. Paul Pogba would have been another booster but unfortunately he didn't make it.
Liverpool had about 3 changes to their line up as Goalkeeper Allison Becker returns back to the goal post after an injury he picked up at the beginning of the season. Center back Joel Matip also returned back to his position to pair with Van Dirk at the center back. Divorck Origi replaced injured Mohammed Salah who couldn't perform for his country at the break due to an injury he picked up in a game.
Manchester United changed their formation to(3-4-2-1) while Liverpool maintained their winning (4-3-3) formation.
The tactics by Ole proved to be effective in the first half of the game, United were able to calm the pressure from Liverpool and played better at first. That performance produced a controversial goal from Rashford in the first half that is adjudged by many especially Liverpool fans as no goal.
There was actually a case of foul on Origi but the linesman and center referee didn't favour it so it produced a counter attack from the wing and a crossed ball and Rashford slot in the ball.
Liverpool were not their best as they tried to soak up the pressure from united, although Sadio Mane got a chance and scored a goal but it canceled as the ball hit him on the hand. This was revealed after watching VAR. Jurgen Klopp's tactics paid after he introduced Adams Lallana into the game. With little time left for stoppages, Robertson crossed in and Adams Lalana scored the equalizer bringing the score to level 1-1.
But on the other hand Liverpool's draw at Old Trafford was more important as they retain their unbeaten record from last season. They (Liverpool) are still at the top of the table with 6 points.
Jurgen Klopp is yet to beat United Ole on the number of times they have met.
