June 4, 20: AutomaticWin, Xbox Burnout, and Games
Today I was up a little before six with another hour short. Not sure if I’m running on adrenaline in the afternoon or what, but haven’t been dragging too bad.
No big surprises during the morning routine. Did the faucets, some curation, helped with some calculus questions over on Discord, checked on the crypto markets.
As it is currently my only viable option, I sent my latest powerdown over to HE and did some trading over there. Shifted around a bunch of tokens and staked everything up in preparation for the Solairitas Weekly News Update (which I ended up slacking on and still need to do 🤭).
Headed out plenty early to get another #AutomaticWin, although I didn’t get it all done on the walk and had to do some laps at home.
It really seemed like it would feel cold out, and I considered grabbing a light jacket, but it wasn’t at all and I was glad that I chose against it.
We saw a couple squirrels, but no Mr. Chubbles today. 😢 Caught a pic of a bunny 🐰 instead. 🤗

The geese families are back at the park. The babies are getting really big now!
I went to play some Xbox and there was yet another update screen, so fine, I started the update and walked away to give it time. After like half an hour or so I came back and everything was off. It has shut itself down and not restarted.
Ok, no biggie, right? Power up manually and see if it starts or what happens...but, um, no power, no response, no deedle dee from the console turning on!!!! 😡🤬😰
Unplugged it, plugged it back in...nada. Unplugged everything, plugged just the power back in, still nothing from the console, but when I powered on with the controller I got white light on the brick and it loaded up! Yay! Success!
It loaded up...to the update screen again!!! Fine, the update failed, so try again.
Wait, wait, wait...download, verify, shut down, and...NOTHING. After that there was no change or response from resetting the power or anything. It was fried! 😢😡
Went online and checked Meijer, Best Buy, Target, GameStop, Amazon, and Walmart...everyone sold out, except Walmart (unless I wanted to wait for it to be shipped). I headed in and they actually had several. Even got one with Forza bundled in for less than the basic one! 😁
While I would have obviously liked to have gotten an X, the S will do just fine.
The evening was mostly spent getting the new Xbox hooked up and set up. The wired network kept blinking in and out and it kept saying that the cable was unplugged.
It was the same cable from the old Xbox, but I guess it really didn’t like it. We had another Ethernet cable, so I tried it and it seems to be running fine now.
Once I got the network stable and got it updated and finally got logged in with my profile (had to change the password again ‘cause I couldn’t remember), I was happy to find that saving all my games on an external hard drive meant that I had all my games and everything! 🥳
I still haven’t tried playing off a disc though, may end up having to reinstall. We’ll see.
By the time I got everything running, it was time to shut it off. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner and then fell asleep watching TV.
No robbery today in my dCity, so got my SIM for the day. 😀 I actually made some progress!!! I sent my powerdown over to HE and got some SWAP.HIVE and used some to buy a Gym and another Basic Home. Boosted my income and popularity! 🥳
Miracle of miracles, I actually got all of my Holybread tasks done today! 🥳
I even made a significant jump up in the ranks! 🤩
I got Dragon splinter for my Splinterlands quest today. 😁 Not too bad, several battles were flying rules, so using Dragon was perfect, especially with Earth splinter as Main with the Vulture combined with Dragon Jumper...harshly devastating.
Broke up into Diamond II! 🏆
Completed the quest in Diamond II with a potion. Fairly good rewards today, a couple rare and a gold foil:
