Odion Ighalo Wins AFCON Golden Boot
It's no news that the African Cup of Nations has Ended with the Algerians Clinching the title, winning by a lone goal against their Senegal counterpart.
However, with Nigeria leaving the competition with the bronze 🏅, it also came along with Odion Ighalo winning the Golden boot for the competition having scored 5 goals.
He moved 2 goals ahead of Riyad Mahrez, Adam Ounas, Cedric Bakambu and Sadio Mane after netting the winning goal against Tunisia in the third place match.
His goal scoring streak started with one goal in the group stage versus Burundi and followed it up with a brace against Cameroon, before scoring one each versus Algeria and Tunisia making him win his debut golden boot in all competitions since playing for Nigeria.
With this feat attained he has been ranked with the likes of Segun Odegbami, Rasheed Yekini, Julius Aghaowa, Austin Okocha and Emmanuel Emenike, the 5 Nigerians to have won this prize.
