Thoughts about 50/50 and How To get on My AutoVoter List

in #sportstalk5 years ago

Yo Sports people!

Let's talk a little about curation. The 50/50 split has proven to be a mighty incentive to curate which is evident in all of the amazing curators on Sportstalksocial. They try their best to incentivize valuable contributions and support worthy content creators who will, in the end, bring value to this platform through their publications.

That's exactly what I want to do with my stake.

I have slowly been adding creators to my autovoter list with this goal in mind. Whoever I found to consistently post quality sports-related content, I've added on my list which currently garners 10 content creators. This list I want to further expand to at least 30 people who will receive daily votes from me.

Benefits of the 50/50 split

This 50/50 author/curator reward split is a great because of multiple reasons and I'm glad @patrickulrich decided to go down this route.

It serves to better, more efficiently and widely, distribute SPORTS tokens and thus contributing to increased decentralization of the token itself - which is currently rather centralized but I hope to see it change in the years to come.

The 50/50 split as already mentioned, incentivizes honest curation of the perceivably best content. As we've seen on Vanilla Steem, 75/25 is broken because of peoples ill-mentality, fueled by greed and driven by maximizing short-term profits for oneself, while sacrificing the long term viability of the platform itself.

For that reason, (among others) Steem is slowly loosing value over time as the ill-minded individuals keep milking the system, upvoting their valueless publications and selling received tokens on the open market which in turn pushes the price down significantly.

The 50/50 split aims to circumvent this natural human aspect of GREED and replace it with a sharing mentality of sorts. When you think about it, 50/50 really drives curators to use their stake in a manner which is valuable for the long term benefits of the platform.

Who will I curate?

  • I want to curate users who genuinely enjoy writing about sports and input their valuable time and energy into creating quality content.

  • I want to curate content creators who post great content which increases the SEO of Sportstalksocial and thus boosts its Google authority and Alexa rankings.

  • I want to curate users who won't dump their SPORTS on the market and consequently crash its price.
  • I want to curate users who will stake their rewards.
  • I want to curate users who are genuinely curating others based on quality and not on nepotism and favoritism.

How to get on my list?

  • State in a comment that you agree to the above-mentioned terms and conditions

  • Link your best sports-related article

  • Mention one other user who you think deserves to be on my list

After this post pays out in a week, I'll review all of your submissions and add as many of you to my list as possible while still leaving some of my VP for manual curation.

NOTE!

No abuse will be tolerated and any breach of the terms and conditions will forever eliminate you from the list and someone else who deserves it more will take your place.

If I see someone on my list posting spammy content, dumping vast amounts of SPORTS on the market, or circle-jerking with their stake, he/she will permanently be removed from my autovoter list without ever having the chance to get back their spot.

So, if you feel like you deserve a spot on my list, feel free to leave a comment down below and assure your spot amongst the Sportstalksocial legends.

This will hopefully bring more curators last time only 25% for curators that was quite low for content curation lets see this 50 /50 split can bring any difference it feels a bit hard for authors but i think its gonna be great in long term aspects

SportsTalkSocial feels like a new Steem journey. It might make you little upset when you create content for a long time and you don't see much reward for your effort and time. That's one of the reasons, a lot of people left Steemit. Now I see people are coming back to Steem blockchain because we have amazing platforms like SportsTalkSocial.

50/50 reward is a win-win situation and this platform will be huge, I think. I'm staking my SPORTS Tokens. Let's see just what happens after 3 months. I'm so excited and happy to be here.

Thank you @sports.central for your initiative to support content creators.

Thank you for your thoughtful response @rezoanulvibes!

I agree! SportsTalkSocial is definitely like starting a new Steem journey and for me it literally is just that as I opened a separate account just for this purpose, not to flood my main account with sports-related content as my following is already used to me being and posting in the crypto niche.

a win win situation with this for all the content creators as well for those who want to curate for better for this tribe it will be really cool to see lot of curators making the trending page more better

Spot on @cutiepie! Spot on! I wish to see more and more curators making an awesome trending for everyone to enjoy in.

i still remember this used to be the most hated thing on steemit when people just buy auto votes using bid bots and those content creators who try their level best and their effort goes in vain when no one sees their post and those who create nothing in value via post their posts goes in trending section i hope with 50/50 split this problem goes away and the best content platform which we all want to see comes up :)

It still is the most hated thing on Steem, especially when people buy bidbot votes to boost shitty content. It makes the whole trending tab unenjoyable for everyone.

I agree with that.

good luck bro!
