Morata might gave already signed for Athletico Madrid

If the news is anything to go by, Morata might have already signed for Athletico Madrid. This is according to Cadena COPE which stated that the players signed to the Rojiblancos on Saturday. This means that we would be expecting the player to be fielded with the likes of Griezmann and Diego Costa although Costa is out injured.

Morata is one player I had expected to shine in the Premier league. I remember when he was at Juventus. He was scoring goals from left, right and centre and was very good with head. Who would forget the famous two-legged victory over Real Madrid in the champions league that crashed the Spanish giants out even with Cristiano Ronaldo. It is very disturbing to see that Morata could not adapt to the conditions and demands of the premier league. Week in, week out, he was firing blanks and anything but finding the net. Sarri could not endure any longer with the player and he had to be thrown out of to the squad, given a place on the bench while the likes of Giroud and Loftus-cheek got playing time.

It looks like things have changed now and the news is that Barcelona were even involved in a bid to sign the player but opted out in the last minute when it seemed clear that Athletico were getting the player.

Morata opted to sign for Athletico Madrid ahead of Barcelona. This could have been because he fancies his chances with Athletico Madrid rather than Barcelona who are star-studded and have little or no space for a striker who hasn't been at his at prime over the course of the season.
