Mario Mandzukic Sets World Cup Own Goal
The Croatian forward Mario Mandzukic was forced to set a new record as he became the first player to net an own goal in the final of World Cup.
The messiah of the Croatia team in the semifinal against England was helpless as his supposed defensive header turned out to flick past their goalkeeper Danijel Subasic prior to Antoine Griezmann's free-kick, which resulted to an own goal.
The Juventus forward later tried redeeming his previous error by taking advantage of Hugo Lloris' failed dribbling.
He captured the ball with a first kick that saw the ball to the back of the net which made the scores 4-2.
France triumphed in Russia as they defeated the Croatians in a thrilling 4-2 to lift the cup for the first time since 1998.
