Blog Divider for Splinterlands | Week 85

in #spt5 years ago

Introduction

Now, I had mentioned in my previous post that I am writing a good number of Splinterlands articles and so having attractive blog dividers are always welcome. The Splinterlands provided blog dividers are fantastic, but with everyone using it, there is this need for finding new ones, or at least in my case, making a new one.

So, I will be making one more blog divider and sharing for those interested in using. What are we waiting for?

Let’s go.

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

The Base Material

I am just trying to avoid reinventing the wheel and get the base material from the available options on Pixabay. There were two images that I took whose licenses were free to use. Of course, giving credit is always welcome as per the site.

Anyway, let’s get started with the two base images.

Line Divider Calligraphy

Here is the group of beautiful line dividers that were created by Analise and hosted on Pixabay.

Here it is.

Line Divider Source

The group line dividers formed my first image and the second image, to bring in a flair of Splinterlands, was downloaded from Pixaby as well.

Have a look:

These were the two images which I used to make our blog divider.

Editing them Up

Now, in Analise’s image, I just picked up one of the line dividers. I had to edit out the others and have only one. Here is the one I selected.

I used the dragon image the way it was. There was no editing done there.

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

Bringing Them Together

Once the images were ready, I brought them together. And here’s how they looked.

I liked the look but had to edit out the white space above and below the actual blog divider. That editing was the only remaining part.

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

Final Touches

I used MS-Paint to crop out the white space, and the final line divider looked like this.

Hmm. Now I was satisfied.

However, there was one learning which came out of my last blog divider creation. I realized that the blog divider even after cropping appeared quite huge in between actual texts.

Which means, it would be better to test out the blog divider among texts. In the following section, I will use the blog divider between texts from some of my previous articles.

The idea is to check the look and feel of the blog divider and not my article. So, let’s go.

Testing The Blog Divider

Rajesh turned at Sam’s reaction and saw the chandelier frozen at forty-five degrees as if someone had pulled it to one side and would leave it swinging to the other side. The problem was that they both were the ones standing on the other side in the chandelier’s path.

“Run,” Sam yelled, and at the same time, the chandelier swung wildly towards the staircase. As they ran down the stairs, the chandelier hit the wall, and the resulting rain of glasses created havoc in the darkness.

“Did you get that on camera? Rajesh’s question amused Sam, who was avoiding the glass shrapnel. At times, in extreme stress and fear, the brain supposedly gives in, and the trauma turns to humour, which Sam feared was the case with Rajesh.

“I got that, but I hope we are getting out of here,” Sam pointed to one of the doors opening. History wise, the witches castle was a construction in Philadelphia dating back to the nineteenth century, but it was in the twentieth century that it gained its reputation. It was a woman who turned to witchcraft to punish her ex-husband and his wife for taking away her married life.

“What’s that?” Rajesh pointed up. The camera clearly recorded orbs flying across.

“Rajesh, isn’t it time we got out of here?” Sam was admittedly spooked for the first time.

The story of the woman further goes that she got her witchcraft wrong and summoned evil which she could not control but was driven to insanity herself. The woman was now in a mental asylum, but the curse which she summoned still haunted the house and continued to spread its darkness.

Blog Divider Looks Good

Unlike my previous blog divider, this one is better as far as its dimensions are concerned. So, I don’t have to edit anymore.

So, here is my final blog divider.

Before I go, What Game is Splinterlands?

Well, it is one of the earliest blockchain-based collectible games. Though I started playing the game quite late, on hindsight, I should have had got going early. Anyway, no need to despair, there is so many opportunities no matter when you start.

Splinterlands is a digital card game which allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent and even earn on the cards. It is one of the most generous games that I have seen where cards, potions, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out every day to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments or guilds that you can join.

I hope that gives an overview of the game. I just love the game, and those interested can go to Splinterlands’ site and join. If you want a link to join, I will leave one at the end of the article which you can use.

Scroll down, quick. 😊

Hope you liked the blog divider. You can use it if you wish. That’s any way my pass time creation. 😊

If, however, you do want to give credit, then make sure you use the creators of the base image mentioned under the base material section.

Enjoy and have fun! We will meet soon!
