Blog Divider for Splinterlands | Week 86 | Art

in #spt4 years ago

Introduction

Hello, you all players cum writers! If you are like me, then you love to play as well as write about Splinterlands as a game. Am I right? Maybe, you say. Alright, from the 'perhaps' gang, there would be some who love to make their Splinterlands article look good, and one of the ways is the blog-dividers that we use.

Now, in the previous two articles, I had shown how blog-dividers could be made from already available base images. In this edition, let’s look at making blog dividers from the basic images available on Microsoft presentation (ppt) and few Splinterlands image.

So, let’s get started then?

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

The Base Material

Let’s try a theme-based blog-divider. So, if I am writing an article on Fire Splinter or something to do with any of the cards under the Fire Splinter, then I would like the blog divider to be in line with the article.

Let’s choose the base material from the PowerPoint images and one of the Splinterlands card.

Here are the first set of images that I will be looking at:

The selected images are just a basic line, a circle and a cube. The second image would be one of the cards from Splinterlands. You can choose the cards of your liking.

Those two form our base images, now let’s get them together.

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

Editing them Up

We first take the PPT images and make a few changes and adjustments. The line is made thicker, the color changed to orange while we chose the dash-and-dotted format of the line. At the same time, we change the colour of the cubes as well as the circle.

Here is how they appear when we bring them together.

Now, we bring the Splinterlands image together with the above image. Let’s see how it looks.

At this stage, it was apparent that the circle was overkill, so I dropped it. So, the divider is almost ready except for the white spaces around it.

Let’s get that brushed out.

---------------------------------------------******---------------------------------------------------

Brushing Up the Final Image

Here’s where I remove the extra whitespace around the blog divider. It is done on MS-Paint, and this is how the final image appears.

Okay, that looks cool. But how does it appear between texts? I did that by testing it between random tests from my previous article.

Here it is.

Testing The Blog Divider

Rajesh turned at Sam’s reaction and saw the chandelier frozen at forty-five degrees as if someone had pulled it to one side and would leave it swinging to the other side. The problem was that they both were the ones standing on the other side in the chandelier’s path.

“Run,” Sam yelled, and at the same time, the chandelier swung wildly towards the staircase. As they ran down the stairs, the chandelier hit the wall, and the resulting rain of glasses created havoc in the darkness.

“Did you get that on camera? Rajesh’s question amused Sam, who was avoiding the glass shrapnel. At times, in extreme stress and fear, the brain supposedly gives in, and the trauma turns to humour, which Sam feared was the case with Rajesh.

“I got that, but I hope we are getting out of here,” Sam pointed to one of the doors opening. History wise, the witches castle was a construction in Philadelphia dating back to the nineteenth century, but it was in the twentieth century that it gained its reputation. It was a woman who turned to witchcraft to punish her ex-husband and his wife for taking away her married life.

“What’s that?” Rajesh pointed up. The camera clearly recorded orbs flying across.

“Rajesh, isn’t it time we got out of here?” Sam was admittedly spooked for the first time.

The story of the woman further goes that she got her witchcraft wrong and summoned evil which she could not control but was driven to insanity herself. The woman was now in a mental asylum, but the curse which she summoned still haunted the house and continued to spread its darkness.

Blog Divider Looks Good

Okay, so the divider is subtle as far as its dimensions and looks are concerned. So, this is my final piece.

Now, you can make as many variations of this as you like and you can make one for every theme. So, enjoy and have fun making your own blog divider. 😊

Before I go, What Game is Splinterlands?

Well, it is one of the earliest blockchain-based collectible games. Though I started playing the game quite late, on hindsight, I should have had got going early. Anyway, no need to despair, there is so many opportunities no matter when you start.

Splinterlands is a digital card game which allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent and even earn on the cards. It is one of the most generous games that I have seen where cards, potions, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out every day to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments or guilds that you can join.

Just to give you an idea of few of the uber-expensive cards, take a look at this recent purchase of Prince Julian at USD 3500.

Did you go to the link and see for yourself? I hope you did. And I hope that gives an overview of the game. I just love the game, and those interested can go to Splinterlands’ site and join. If you want a link to join, I will leave one at the end of the article which you can use.

Scroll down, quick. 😊
