DETRACTING FACTORS.
One of the most challenging issue in life especially the youth in this our century is a detracting factor. Many are being detracted today, trying to take away their concentration in the area of their studies, working place and apprenticeship.
They are apart by the world of choice and desires. Many times we commonly hear “I don’t have enough time or I’m too busy”. These may be too good reason to stop your project which you are embarking on.
Many detraction factors come in different ways and shapes for the sole purpose of stopping you. They are diverters of good intentions. Some of the more obvious strategies it employs are the unnecessary hours you spend on televisions, video games etc. these detractors are sing different tactics and subtle approaches to draw you away from your focus.
I call them wolves that seek to devour. They seek to deceive you believing they are food for your life. They try to keep you busy all day long. They brainstorm you to believe they are leading you into things valuable.
But watch it, many atimes they look harmful. It may be late movie watching, unnecessary errands and unprofitable phone conversation. Have you wondered the closing of the day, where did you spend all your day? You may discover you have wasted many precious moments.
Watch your detractors! They make you settle for less, play small and sell yourself short.
How can you protect yourself from the distraction factor? How can you direct or rather channel yourself on those beneficial things that can help you focused in life?
Choose one thing you want to achieve in a day. Start with something small, something you can complete within 1-2 hours. Be very clear about what it is you want to achieve. You can equally write down your intentions and post it somewhere you can see it. this is not movie, I do it
set a time schedule for accomplishing this task. This can equally be applied here on steemit. How long do you want to take up a project and exactly when do you want to achieve it?
once you begin working on the task, observe!. Where does your mind go? Where do you see yourself getting distracted? What other activities do you think about doing? That’s the question supposed to be ringing in your mind.
when you find your attention diverted to other activities, gently bring yourself back to the task. If you honesty need a break, them take 10-15 minutes and give yourself permission to do something very different.
The important thing to remember is that the detractor factor only has power when you are not aware of its existence in your life. Once you are able to recognize the strategies it sees to divert y your attentions, it powers disappears because you now have the ability to self correct and keep yourself on course until you reach your goal.
