If you are business minded, then please do get in here and let's rub minds. In my previous episode, i talked about living in VUCA world and how to live up to it by becoming VUCA PRIME.

Now let's continue, how can you become an entrepreneur, let me rephrase that, anyone can become an entrepreneur, but not all can successful. So how can you become a successful entrepreneur?

What steps do you need to take

1. Establish an idea -

The first thing about being an entrepreneur is you have a business you want to run. A business doesn't just spring up from a tree, or out of thin air like "woah". It starts with the mind, a thought, an idea. So you need to establish an idea first about what you would like to do.

2. Solve a problem

There is something you need to understand about business. We have the law of supply and demand. You can not be supplying a commodity that people are not demanding, nobody will buy it. Ask yourself, would you like to purchase this product? If no, then you have your answer. If you cannot convince yourself, then how do you expect to convince other people your product or service is worth their penny.

So you need to find a problem, then offer a solution to that problem.

People would always choose to pay for you to solve their problems, than solving such problems themselves.

So there you go, you have an edge. Look for a problem, it might be a problem around you or your community, your country, and solve it. I once heard this story, can't confirm how true it is. Two friends traveled to India for the first time, upon arrival they noticed that the Indians were walking about barefooted, no footwear. One of the friends saw a problem, while the other saw a solution. He simply traveled back to his country, bought cheap flip flops, imported them back into India and sold them to the people. This man became rich in no time.

Find a problem and solve it!

3. Make good use of your phone, tablets, computer

The generation we live in today has seen a rampant increase in the use of gadgets and other social enabling devices. The problem is most people only see the social side to these devices which is totally wrong. Nothing stops you from using such devices also to carry out research, build connections and networks, check out the top competitors in the sector you want to dive into and how they are doing it, the challenges they are facing and the sorts. The internet has connected the world and made it a very small place because no we have all the information we need at our very own fingertips, unlike the old days one would have to travel far and beyond to carry out research and other resources.

4. Branch out, build a business model

Granted you have laid the foundation of what you want to do, and how to go about it in your mind by the enabling power of your thoughts and ideas. Next is to actually put down those ideas into organized planning.

A wise man once said, if you don't plan, then you plan to fail.

So get a business proposal /model, something that shows what your idea is about, how you intend to go about it, how you intend to grow it, how much is needed to actualize it, manpower, and the likes. Profits and all other marginalizations.

5. Position yourself, take action

Thus stage is where most people get it all wrong. After having done up to stage 4, then they relax because nobody is willing to give them money for startup. Some successful businesses won't be there today if they had given up because nobody wanted to invest in their company. Trust me you will be let down by people who don't see your vision and where you are headed, but that should not deter you or slow you down, or worst, make you give up on that idea.

Keep pressing on and seeking support until you get it. Look at your model and confirm why people are not buying your idea, adjust your model if applicable and develop more on those places.

You have not failed if you fall flat on your face, you have only failed if you don't see the point in getting back up on your feet. Don't expect people to hand you favors, you make them see why they should.

Until next time, you are free to air your own opinions or experience in the comments for others to learn from.

NEVER SAY NEVER, IT IS NOT THE END TILL YOU SAY IT IS.
