Word for Today:

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:27"

Remember the words of the hymn;

Fading away like the stars of the morning, losing their light in the glorious sun thus would we pass from the earth and its toiling, only remembered by what we have done.

Life is a gift, trust and an assignment; how we use it matters a lot. Gifts are given to us for service.
We are not created to hoard Gods blessings; rather, we are created to be the channels of blessing to others.

Our passage today revealed that Dorcas (also known as Tabitha), never preached like Peter or Paul. Yet she had an enormous and eternal impact on her community by doing kind things for others and helping the poor.

She never left her gift of giving and generosity unused. When she died, her house was filled with mourners, people she had helped. Her kindness lived beyond her days and she was remembered for her great impact.

Do you have this kind of impact on you community?

How well are you maximizing your gift for the benefit of others?

Kindness is one fruit that all believers can have (see Gal. 5:22)?

What would you be remembered for beyond today?
