Billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller spoke about his investment in bitcoin

Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller said that he is also a bitcoin holder.

"Bitcoin can be an attractive asset class from the position of a means of accumulation for both Millennials and money from the West coast," he said in a conversation with CNBC this Monday.

In an interview, Druckenmiller drew attention to the stabilization of the bitcoin market and compared investments in cryptocurrency with investments in gold: "I Have many times more gold than bitcoins, but in truth, if a bet on gold works, a bet on bitcoin may work better, because it is thinner and more illiquid, and much more sensitive to the movements of the rest of the market. It has been around for about 13 years, and with each passing day it is taking in more information as a brand."

Last year, Druckenmiller did not welcome the idea of investing in bitcoin. "I don't consider myself the Neanderthal that I was called when I said I didn't hold bitcoin," he added.

A few weeks ago, the investor announced the opening of a short position on the dollar, which, according to him, is waiting for a decline over the next 3-4 years.

Druckenmiller founded Duquesne Capital and is considered one of the most successful managers on wall street. He closed his Fund in August 2010, explaining the decision by saying that he felt unable to provide high returns for clients. At the time of closing, Duquesne Capital had more than $12 billion in assets under management. Between 1988 and 2000, Druckenmiller managed money for George Soros in the position of portfolio Manager for Quantum Fund. According to reports, against the background of the 2008 crisis, he managed to earn $260 million. Druckenmiller's personal fortune is estimated at $4.4 billion.
