Star trek: Discovery review
I know the first season is over and I wanted to write this down a few weeks ago. Star trek: Discovery is a sci fi series and something new to the Star trek universe. New characters, new ships, new FTL drive, new stories, even new klingons. I liked the show somehow but there were some aspects that I couldn't like even if I wanted to.
Michael Burnham
There is Michael Burnham the main character, did you know how great she is? Why is the whole story about that how great she is? Captain Kirk was great and the original series wasn't only about him. She attempted mutiny and started a war with the worst possible enemy of that era. What makes her so special I don't know maybe her haircut? Have I already told you how great she is? C'mon that's annoying. Maybe she is great but you don't need to tell us that every few minutes. There are other great characters to.
The Klingons don't look like Klingons. No facial hair and bald? NO WAY... In every show till now they looked a little bit different but that's to much give them at least a mustache and eyebrows.
General Chang approves that.
Saru a new alien species that is fast, strong, smart and sometimes paranoid. I kinda liked that character is friendly, polite and he has a good heart. The first impression of him is that he wouldn't harm any living being.
Captain Philippa Georgiou
Why she had to die in the first episode, she could be great character.
Captain Gabriel Lorca
My favourite character, he is like the "BADASS" version of Kirk and Picard. He has great leading abbilities, showing the crew that he is the boss and there is no democracy in war. After the voyage to the mirror universe we see that he is not the one he seems to be. Lorca is a SPACE-NAZY and he dies in a cruel way, probably because he is the only white CIS male in the show. That's enough stop involving politics here we don't care about the political oppinion of the writters we want Star trek.
I hope we will see the real Lorca in season 2. He is a great Captain and the discovery won't be so interesting without him.
