Well see I really enjoyed The Last Jedi, and I also really enjoyed The force Awakens. Pretty much all my friends feel the same way...but I have run into a few people who didn't care for one or both of them. It's a matter of personal taste since both films were actually crafted well. Purely speaking from a filming standpoint, The Last Jedi was excellent. Just because you disagree with the creative choices made in the film doesn't make it bad...but I can see why some people didn't care for it. However, episode 9 looks to be VERY different than anything we have seen before in the Star Wars saga. To not even give it a chance would be a mistake in my opinion. As for the Avengers...they really can't be compared. I did so to try and shut down the argument completely as they will inevitably be compared by the media at some point. Two very different franchises that have impacted people in very different ways. I owe my entire childhood to Star Wars, whereas the MCU has only been around the second half of my life. They're just equal and opposite in my opinion.

Oooooh, gonna have to disagree with you here. You can like a movie, and it can still be bad. EP9 is definitely bad. It is not crafted well at all. On a technical level, it's firing on all cylinders. Hard not to with all that Disney money, but the characters and stories playing throughout are hot garbage, derivative of themselves and incongruent with the saga at large. That makes them bad.

I appreciate your opinions, and I sense we will have to agree to disagree on this one...but just let me ask: What was derivative or incongruent about any of the plot points or characters throughout episode 8?

The derivative comment was really more a gripe about EP7. All nostalgia + a Mary Sue. EP8 has characters behaving in ways that don’t make any sense. Luke doesn’t make sense as a character. He tries to kill his Nephew after spending 3 films becoming a hero and trying to rescue his father? Won’t qctually engage in fight where he might live but astral projects enough to kill himself. That’s a cowardly act. Nope. Doesn’t work. Leiah is blown into space and all of a sudden she’s a force master? Wut? Doesn’t work. Isn’t set up. Snope can make long distance interstellar phone call connections between people using the force but can’t sense a light saber being manipulated right next to him? Doesn’t make sense! Rules are established in one moment only to be thrown out the next. Rose denies Fin his heroic act of self sacrifice to give us some pablum about love. Blah blah blah. She is a selfish idiot. I could go on, but that film doesn’t make a lick of sense.
