Star Wars: The Last Jedi - SPOILER Review

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. THIS IS A SPOILER REVIEW!!!!

Episode 8 is in theatres and after 2 years we see the gang back together. Loved the film and will probably watch it again and again and again!

LIKED:

• Opening Scene. Poe taking down the canons
• The red room fighting scene. One of my favorite scenes in film history (maybe I say that because I am high on Star Wars right now) it has incredible choreography and we see Ben and Rey fighting together. The death of Snoke was MEH! But I get it is the ultimate thing Ben has to do to truly turn into Kylo Ren.
• Practical effects. It is hard to stay away from VFX nowadays, for such a huge movie to still put budget aside for practical effects is unbelievable. The scene with Ben and Rey in the hut, Luke walks in to interrupt their video chat session and he breaks that building! All of that was one take with practical effects WHAT?!?!?! Yes! oh and puppet Yoda comes back.
• Luke and Leia's reunion. The conversation Luke has with Leaia lands in my beating heart and yanks it out, as if Mark is saying a final goodbye to Carrie.
• Luke created Kylo Ren. We finally see what happened in the temple and Luke became paranoid. He tried to kill Ben and he retaliated.
• The casino. The new "cantina" we see the other side of a dirty cantina, great creatures and music.
• The chicken pets on the island. I fell in love with these cute creatures, especially their huge black eyes.
• Laura Dern splitting the ship in half. The moment of silence was very powerful.

DISLIKED:

• Cheesy campy jokes. Some jokes took me out of the film and felt forced/out of place.
• Leia's force. I thought she had died, great scene when she is pulled out into space, but then she uses the force and pulls herself back into the ship.... YUCK!
• Rose and Finn riding on the horsey things. VFX was obvious and took me out of the film. You know what? just Finn and -
  Rose completely, everything they did was BLAH! their "love story" their useless mission.
• Captain Phasma. She is like Boba Fett, awesome character with a costume but... I want her to be badass and she is soooo weak. In The Force Awakens she just gets put in the trash and in The Last Jedi she gets killed by a janitor? I wanted to see more of her.
