What we need from Star Wars: Part 5
Jedi Master Qui-gon Jinn:
"Remember, concentrate on the moment. Feel, don't think. Trust your instincts." Qui-gon Jinn Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace.
Master Qui-Gon Jin the powerful Jedi Knight, trained by Count Dooku and trained the legendary Jedi master Obi-wan Kenobi.
Today I will be discussing one of the most powerful Jedi Masters the counsel ever had and why we need a live action series or movie dedicated to this great Jedi.
Why Qui-gon Jinn:
Qui-gon Jinn was introduced to the fans in Star Wars Episode 1.He was looked up to by many and respected by many more.
Qui-gon born on Corusant and trained by one of the best swords man known to the galaxy Count Dooku. Though he was a great Jedi, Qui-gon had the tendency to disobey the counsel and follow his own way which caused a lot of conflict between himself and the Jedi order.
One can consider Qui-gon as an unofficial grey Jedi. He would listen and act through the force even if the counsel would not approve of his actions.
Qui-gon was a wise Jedi, he had calmness in battle as one can see in the Phantom menace, where he, while in battle, would sit down preforming the ancient act of battle meditation. Being mindful and strong was his best attributes even from a young age as a Jedi apprentice.
The story to follow:
I think most people would agree when i say that a story of Qui-gon has two main parts: His training as an apprentice under the Jedi Count Dooku and when Qui-gon started training Obi-wan.
I would love to see Qui-Gon develop, this is why i said at the beginning of this post that a series would be great. The series would start as the boy Qui-gon is training at the Jedi academy getting stronger, later seen by count Dooku and becoming his Padawan student.
Qui-Gon would grow in the series becoming a formidable Jedi with a future for greatness but denied the right to be on the counsel due to his disobedience.
He would become a Jedi Knight but clouded by love. He would fall in love with one of the other Jedi Named Tahl. Hiding this love and hoping the Counsel would never find out. This would show that Anakin was not the only Jedi to become clouded by love and develop a link between Qui-gon and Anakin.
The missions with Tahl and Jinn, up and till the death of Tahl. Drowning in the pain and loss causing Qui-gon to fall deeper and deeper to the Dark side. Tahl ultimately saves him with her voice through the force and this fuels Qui-gon to learn the way to become a force ghost for the time he would fall in battle.
The series should also focus on each of Qui-gon's apprentices and the character development of Feemore, Xanatos and Obi-wan showing Feemores excellence, Xanatos betrayal and Obi-wan's strive to become great while no one saw this greatness besides Qui-gon.
The series would show the Jedi way, the development of students and the trails of a Jedi. The struggle between the light side and the Dark side from a Jedi's point of view. The loss and pain of companions and the gaining of knowledge. This Series could connect the old Republic, and the modern stories with the beginning of the prophecy and the ancient act of battle meditation being utilized and explained to the viewers. And ultimately the training Qui-gon had gone through to be able to come back as a force ghost.
For conclution I would say that I feel this character has so many untold stories and so much potential for a live action adoptation series. It has all the elements of a great story: Love, pain Hate, joy and betrayal. I really hope Disney and lucus films would consider this character for a movie or series in the years to come.
This is ShadoWing signing of, form a galaxy not so far away ;)
