When I got my Steemit account months ago, it didn’t take any time at all. Now my friends are trying to get accounts and they must wait for approval. Steemit doesn’t provide any feedback on how long the approval takes. It appears that the process takes about a week now. Your statistics for the new users chart is 1 week behind because it takes that long to get an account. I find that the week long process is discouraging to new users. There is already a steep learning curve compared to other social media platforms. Combine that with the discouragement of the week long approval process and we got a recipe for disaster.

Can anyone answer these questions?

  • Why does it currently take a week to creat a new Steemit account?
  • Can Steemit speed up the process?

It takes only seconds for Steem transactions and Steemit handles more daily transactions than any other cryptocurrency, yet it takes a week to set up an account. The new account system is broken.

Its a good news that steemit users are increasing constantly.
