I would laugh if bittrex gets hacked and steemit loses all of their stake... and I literally mean lose, not stolen, lost forever... millions of steem OUT aid circulation... would be funny lol

    If steemit isn't a total idiot (and they are not) they have created a set of mule accounts and transfer the Steem right off bittex again. Just do it a few days later and in small enough quantities.

      They are going to need A LOT of accounts. Will be hard to hide millions of steem

      Steemit could also diversify into other cryptos. Once your money is on an exchange that too is simple enough. Or transfer it to different exchanges.
