Steam now supports the Nintendo Switch Pro controller
Valve has announced official Steam support for the Nintendo Switch controller that you can use on the platform. If you own it, you just need to join the latest Steam beta (a program that allows users to test the upcoming versions of the popular platform) to use its functionality.
"We think this is a great device with a set of features that suits your Steam catalog," says Valve in his latest blog post: "Its D-pad is ideal for fighting games and platformers, and gyro targeting is perfect for action and FPS titles ".
Obviously, there are many things you may like in this nice and pretty handy Pro Controller, although the lack of analog triggers may be a problem. Its great strength, however, is its excellent gyroscope, which must provide precision aimed at shooting games. This is a great alternative to the DualShock 4 or Steam Controller.
In fact, it's now possible to use the Switch Pro Controller on a computer for some time thanks to its Bluetooth support, but it was a bit clumsy and required a third party program to work effectively. With the help of official Steam support built in now, things have to be considerably smoother.
