Step 1: As in any project, we must be clear about what we want to do, the sketch, the design, the material and accessories to start. step 2: once everything is ready, you have to look for clothes, there are many options, you can modify, mix or make a garment, I ecomiendo play with the clothes and mix it, you can not use things from your closet but they are garments that get easily in second hand stores or in the closet of your aunt, grandmother, you can provide items such as dress shirts blazers, especially, raincoats to simulate a Victorian dress.
Step 3: Once you have solved the issue of clothing and have obtained the outfit, continue to choose the accessories that will help you to see steampunk for example, old brooches, (for bags, shirts or cuffs) gloves (gloves depend on the design and the clothes you chose, choose what you like best) googles are viewers and a recognized steampunk item, you can decorate them as you want, I recommend golden colors, marbles and copper for accessories and those colors go hand in hand, with the Victorian clothes, medals, are very good options, belts, cup boys or bloomers, use whatever sticks to what you want.
The steampunk is perfect for modifying things. nothing is lost and you can recycle what you want for the costume like used wire, rings, belts, hats, toy weapons, everything is worth it and I love that! There are no limits to whatever you want to do.
