Steem Cartoon : Caricature of CY, how it was done.

Hello Steemians.

Caricature always be my cup of tea, all these while. Yes, my pot of rice normally came from my profession as a professional Architect. Even so, my passion is always be drawing cartoons. The top of the list, is capturing people’s face into CARICATURE.

This is Chung Yee a.k.a CY, @perennial , a well known steemian. He is a multi talented Lawyer and a dear friend with a heart of gold...

He encourages many people (including me ☺️) to sign up with steemit and guided them to success with steemit.

I only knew this guy less than 2 months ago, introduced by my fellow cartoonist, @sireh. It was all about steemit.

Being a vateran and a slow learner on anything about cyber world, I always asked too many questions. Sometime I had to call him at odd hours when I didn’t understand anything.... yes anything at all. I used to see him in person for any consultation at mamak or coffee shop. Until I feel like knowing him for ages!!!

He never fail to appear, whenever he was needed.

The Process

I started with pencil sketch, to capture his main feature and face character.

I normally used 4B Gemany Lead Faber Castell on 300gm water color paper. Japanese brush pen (black) and Pilot permanent marker. The only thing made in Malaysia is the Stabilo dust free eraser 😊

Continue with the whole body and adding on his lovely cat, Ginger.

I quickly inked it up and record a time lapse process to share with you guys...😬

I also apply some toning to the picture for a better appearence.

coloring and final touch up

I decided to use pencil color to complete it as it was faster and unfortunately, I didn’t use a waterproof pen if I were to use water color...

Lastly, a little bit of the back ground...
