Important question on steemit payouts.something is wrong

in #steem-help8 years ago (edited)

today i had a fairly succesfull post.around 11 hours after posting i had about 68 upvotes and 19 comments, total 460$.the last hour i got a couple more upvotes and i reached 71 but my payout kept dropping rapidly.at payout time i had 323$.

the last couple upvotes were important too.for example @dantheman upvoted me the last hour.

why did my payout decrease instead of increase?

here is the link to the particular post,if somebody can understand something more than me please help, maybe i did something wrong https://steemit.com/steemit/@perfectworld/steemit-com-teaser-made-by-an-enthusiast-my-way-of-giving-back

That same thing happened to me a few days ago. I went to bed with like $3600 and then the next morning it was $2800 or so. Sounds like similar percentage.

@condra explained it on another comment.
was it dropping gradually?

Don't know. Went to bed. Did not look at the blockchain, if it is even recorded there.

25% of the earnings go to curators. Also, as far as I know, the figure is only an estimate, and subject to change, depending on how diluted the voting power of your voters is/becomes. Keep in mind, there is nothing you can do about how payment actually works, so best to focus on more great content. Congrats anyway, 323 is a nice cheque.

i did not know abot the 25%.thas ok of course.
but it was dropping graduallyy the last hour.that was so strange, especially after being upvoted by @dantheman.
i will post even better!

As @condra already mentioned 25% of the figure goes to the curators. The part where the amount starts to slowly go down can be attributed to 2 different factors. First is just a simple drop in the price of SBD. Second the amount is influenced by higher paying threads. If they go up enough yours goes down. You will really notice this if a post gets over 10000 SBD.

The more up votes a whale makes, their value get spread out.

thanks for your input
