PAY BACK TIME - SHARING SESSION WITH STUDENT - MUSIC ART PART 1

Hi friends at Steemit -

Yesterday 28th March part of my exhibition is Talk and Sharing session with student from various university around Shah Alam. The Talk and sharing session includes two other artist Yong and Rachael, who exhibit their Digital Artwork.

From me, I share my knowledge and experiences doing album cover for local artists and recording companies.
It's was great and fun for me. And most of the young generation do not know what is Vinyl and 8 Track Tape.
Hahaha that was the great day of Analog Recording.

My presentation is on MUSIC ART.
How records cover start in 1877 till today. How it evolve from just a cylinder cover printed only names of company to the real work of art on vinyl covers in 60-70 era and till today cd, box-sets

COLUMBIA RECORDS hired ALEX STEINWEISS as its first ART DIRECTOR. He is credited with inventing the concept of album covers and cover art, replacing the plain covers used before.

By the late 1940s, record albums for all the major companies featured their own colorful paper covers in both 10- and 12-inch sizes. Some featured reproductions of classic art while others utilized original designs.

In the 60's one man that I admire in designing album cover is BOB CATO. Bob do a lot for legendary artist like Bob Dylan, The Band, Barbara Streisand, Cheap Thrill and many more

In the 70's and 80's two great man who I really admire is Storm Thorgerson - famous with his Pink Floyd album cover and Roger Dean famous for doing cover for YES.
