I tried to leave a clue in my post last yesterday by saying "that creeping plant" (creeping spurge), but didn't want to give it away. All those who died just had to look up what others identified was purslane to have been safe and not take the gamble they did.
I am traveling my myself, so if something were to happen to me on the dangerous path...well I wouldn't have anyone to make a tourniquet or to make a make shift brace; Team players likely have the advantage of taking the dangerous path. This is one of those things where [individual] players will likely be mortally wounded from this dangerous path, or be shot staying on the outskirts of town. A thinning of the herd that at this point is just a gamble.
I have a knife and water purification tablets, and need to eat by the end of Day 6. This was a toss-up for me! If it were actually me, I would head off-road immediately. But I don't know how my Steem-me can handle that rough terrain by herself.

I have a pistol with 8 rounds and some water purification tabs. Since I chose to go it alone, I think the falling rocks, steep cliffs, and rugged terrain may be a little daunting. I'm kind of regretting my decision at this point.
Being a loner, I think my chances are better sneaking around the edge of the city. I choose option 2.
