Progress, Further Improvements, More Ideas!

steem-ua.png

Another Big Week for @steem-ua, and another Update Post was needed, indeed!
In this post:

  • A few more words on @steem-ua delegations
  • Invitation to Curators & Curation Guilds
  • New Features being implemented

Let's dive right in!

A few more words on @steem-ua delegations

As we progress more and more, so do the delegations. At the time of writing this, things are looking like this:

RankDelegateeNumber of DelegatorsDelegated SP
1@minnowbooster1410666348.73 SP
2@steem-ua915531954.22 SP
3@smartsteem8172984811.50 SP

... Not bad, for only being "live" for 19 days! Still, we hope for many more accounts to join the current 915 @steem-ua delegators, and every delegation - be it 25 SP or 25 million SP (one can hope!) - is welcome!

In my "Scipio Post" @steem-ua, Let's UNITE: My Open Letter to All Accounts, I've tried to explain what the benefits are, for each and every account, to delegate to @steem-ua. And as I'm trying to read (and respond, when possible) all posts & comments regarding UA / steem-ua, I came around a few (I've resteemed it even for transparency) that might have not fully grasped the true meaning of what I've been trying to express. SO let me try again:

  • for planktons & minnows: delegating 25 SP, 50 SP, 100 SP or 250 SP to @steem-ua offers you (on average at least) a far better ROI (return on investment) than 10 * 7 * 100% self-voting. What we are trying to do, is incentivise high-quality posting, say once every day (because publishing quality content takes some time), networking with other Steemians (either on Steem itself, or via Discord for example), not leaving the platform but staying active and over time grow your account at a healthy pace, and to have fun along the way!

  • for dolphins & orcas: for those that (can afford to) delegate 5,000 SP or more we have our "high-SP Sponsor Reward Program". You could check our account https://steemit.com/@steem-ua.pay to see how it works, and if you have any questions, DM me for more info about it!
Now, I'm quite aware that - in terms of direct ROI -, there are delegation / investment alternatives on the Steem blockchain that will provide you with more immediate returns on your investment. But still, I'd like you to consider delegating whole-heartedly to @steem-ua nonetheless. By doing so, you are helping with keeping our mission in tact to improve plankton & minnow user retention rates, because with your help delegating to @steem-ua remains more rewarding to them than self-voting.

  • for whales: some of you might be interested in increasing the value of your crypto holdings, some of you want the Steem Ecosystem to get better and better for each and everyone of us, there might be other motives that apply to you and that I didn't mention yet (here, or elsewhere). But please consider delegating to @steem-ua (our stats on https://steemworld.org/@steem-ua speak for themselves, hopefully) as a long term investment in yourself, the entire platform, and maybe even the world of crypto as a whole... In case you want to chat, feel free to contact me via DMs.

I'd like to quote one of our Power Sponsors @nathanmars on how he sees things with @steem-ua:

I never have any expectations from others and I only expect from GOOD from myself. Most people are focused on short term ROI and I'm focused on ROX (Return of Multiples).

ROX - Return of Multiples. That's being On The Same Page, @nathanmars : you rock!

Invitation to Curators & Curation Guilds

Are you aware already about the existence of the UA Scout Role on our Discord, about our account @ua-scout , and how you can use that account yourself to "nominate" top-notch, new (or poor / not-yet-well-established) accounts for a (small) @steem-ua LoveVote? While talking to @hanshotfirst just shortly before, we were discussing mechanisms on how to involve & reward new accounts, not yet acquianted with the "Steem-UA Movement" (or simply not able to delegate); especially accounts that already provided some good Posting Efforts but were still struggling to get noticed and rewarded at some degree. So, as a solution, we have implemented the @ua-scout account, to be used by human curators on the watch for Steem Talent. Multiple UA Scouts are already using that account to upvote interesting content (with a tiny vote worth), but the @steem-ua Bot "listens" to those nomination votes, does some computing (yes, some more math stuff going on there!) and decides to upvote (some of) the nominations itself.

Would you like to help? You are invited! In order to do so, please join our Discord, talk to @meno (the UA Organizer) and let's get you started!

PS: we also have a section of "Partner Communities" on our Discord, that you can use to invite people to, announce cool stuff, etc. etc.!

New Features being implemented

We're always looking to improve further and further, we have a lot of ideas that are "on the list" already or being implemented right now, and we're open to any other suggestions to further improve our Algorithmic Curation Program. To give you a primer on what's coming shortly:

  • Delegator Settings Page: slowly but steadily, we are adding more features to our website https://steem-ua.com/
One of those new (forthcoming) features is the "Delegator Settings Page". As I've had personal contact with multiple delegators / sponsors, I've noticed some like to receive ROI (which is perfectly fine with me), while others only delegate / sponsor to support us, and prefer to decline any rewards / ROI. As you can imagine, while we grow, that can be pretty labor-intensive to manually manage (on occasional human error is no exception, and if you noticed that something went wrong, then plese do contact me). The Delegator Settings Page aims to automate this. We'd like you to be able to simply log in, set whether you like to (or not) receive upvotes on your content (via the Algorithmic Curation Program), same with the high-SP Sponsor Rewards Program, and if you do, whether you want to authorize @steem-ua.pay to generate your Sponsor Rewards or like to set (or for us to create) an alt account for that.

  • More Stats & Data: I like numbers (duhhh!) and charts and data.
Already we provide some insights on https://steem-ua.com/stats , but I want to add a boatload of more (interactive) charts, to get more useful insights.

  • Data Sharing via UA-API:
If you are or know @steemchiller , could you please (let him) contact me via DM? I really Love https://steemworld.org/ and I'd personally love to see the metric UA_Account integrated for every account on your website! Your site rocks! Let's make it rock some more!

  • Even better SmartComments:
Presentation matters. More insights matter. And as I've (briefly) talked about with @uwelang (and others), our SmartComments Module already provides some value but I want to upgrade it to prove a lot of value. It's a continuous WiP (Work in Progress), but my goal with the SmartComments is to "coach" all accounts on how to improve their post visibility, user engagement, and - pretty important to most - their earnings.

That's all for now Folks!

I don't wanna rush things and am still watching how it works out. I see a few good things in the fact that undervalued people/posts receive kind of a basic income through votes and it seems to (at least a bit) be connected to the time/effort the users spend for their community.

Even if most of us do not have any insight into the algorithm there have been lots of delegations coming in, which shows that there is a demand for your service. At least there is a demand for receiving a few additional incoming votes without having to use a booster, which is not really a bad thing in my eyes.

I think transparency is very important for such a project to be able to succeed in the long term. But it's hard to publish an algorithm that is still in development, therefore I fully understand why it is still kind of a secret logic that grows in background over time. Of course, the access to the rank and ua-data for each account should be publicly available on your site without us having to enter a private key or registering for your service. As long as this is not the case the whole thing can only grow to some extend I guess.

Nevertheless, I'm going to try it and delegate 25 SP to your service. I will give it some more time and when I'm fully satisfied/convinced I will add the ua-data on SteemWorld ;)

Keep up the good work!

Thx! We also don't like rushing things, hence the way we roll-out things.
BTW, I really like your steemworld.org website! Do you also have an API so we can pull data from it and re-use / publish it? The voting CSI metric for example is really cool!

Do you also have an API so we can pull data from it and re-use / publish it?

Not yet. As I've stated in one of my earlier posts I want to provide a public API as soon as I can make a (good) living of my development. You know, I would require at least one additional powerful server for a stable public endpoint. Time will tell...

The logic for the CSI calculation is not as complicated as one might think. I've planned to publish the formula when I'm fully satisfied with it. Currently the values still vary a bit too much and I will definitely make some minor improvements in the near future. I'll keep you informed ;)

I completely understand! Do you now also understand why we have to rate-limit UA-API ourselves?

Regarding the direct API access I can understand that currently. I think a few weeks from now you will earn enough with the curation rewards to be able to order a few super machines.

Regarding your website you could create kind of an 'account info page' on steem-ua.com and load the data on page load via AJAX request. Your own domain would be added to the allowed ones in the CORS header, so that no requests from other domains will be allowed. Would be a simple and stable, working solution.

Awesome possum... Yes, those who are interested in helping the team scout good content out there, people who need to not fall thru the cracks, please look me up on discord, lets make it happen.

:)

Yessss! Look up @meno on Ze Discord

Second rank is good, but the analytics it provides in comments at the time of upvotes is even better. You have goal to set

Great update @steem-ua I'm just wondering how can we "organize" Witnesses and big ua-Influencers to take care about us small Steemians?
Somehow I'm afraid that the Power to control ua-score lays in a few hands who have a lot of impact. Sure I understand that your scout programm is aiming in that direction but I feel there should be some kind of counter balance to it. What do you think?

You guys rock!
Finally something that could really change the engagement on the steem blockchain! It is great to see that so many people show trust in the project by delegating. Today I did increase my delegation to 250! Which is more than 40% of my SP holding. The rest I will need for myself to be able to support others. I do love manual curation!
I am involved in a race to dolphin status and am already 11% far, so the delegation could hurt in the beginning, but I have no doubt that it will be worth it!
Let's hope that a healthy middle class can exist!

I am a number crunsher myself :) Love those stats so let's keep them coming!

Cheers,
Peter

You can do the math, or just trust me on this, but delegating 250 SP to @steem-ua is waaaaaaay more profitable to you as compared to 7 * 10 * 100%-self voting with those 250 SP!

I do trust you on this one, mmmh after I did my own calculations :)
It is indeed way more profitable. The only thing I do regret is that I will force my to stop upvoting the comments on my postings. That would crush my VP.
But as a reward my account will grow a little bit faster, meaning that the SP will increase faster, giving me the possibility to support their posts more.

I just found and fell in love with this project and have been thinking this exact thing needed to happen, as soon as I have a little more SP I am going to delegate. I can't do a lot as I'm a lowly minnow, but this is the exact sort of project we need to improve user retention on Steemit.

Once I've delegated I will get my friends on board and do a few posts to help guide some minnows over to you.

Thanks to everyone who has delegated or will be delegating to this project, I really hope this succeeds and you're all helping it happen!!!

I'll try my best to bring over as many users as I can to help support the project too.

UA is an exciting development and I hope to see it grow. I have delegated 100 SP and am grateful for the vote.

Wow, 2nd place is incredible given the age of the project! Now, I need to figure where I hid that 25 million SP that I stashed away... Under the mattress? In my pockets... Where did I leave it...

I think you still have it right there where you left it at https://steemit.com/@steemit/transfers !
:P

Lol! Yes, I knew I should have written down the private key for that... My bad!

Well, at least now you know where to find it! ;-)

Awesome, soon we will be #1 in amount of people who delegated.. keep up the good work guys

WhooHaaa!
