Has no one posted anything in hours? Is the sky falling?steemCreated with Sketch.

It's 17:30 UTC on the day of HF21.

I went to reply to a comment and make some upvotes via Steemit, but things went a bit awry. The interface threw errors at me every time I tried to make a transaction, saying I can only make a vote/comment every 3 seconds. Understandable, but it still said so after waiting an ample ten seconds.

I thought it was probably just my computer acting up, so I rebooted.

Once I got back online though, I found that the same thing was happening. I gave up on that comment, then went to the new tab to waste my time pretending to curate. To my great surprise the new tab only shows posts that are 2 hours old!

Is this normal instability on day zero of a hardfork?

I wasn't present at the exact time of HF20, though I did reel from the shock. Maybe this has nothing to do with the fork, and it's just a Steemit problem. Hopefully Steem isn't dead and I'll get to post this someday. If it does get out, did you notice anything strange or is it just me?

If it's a wider issue this is all very unfortunate because I just made a new account and tried to onboard someone. Nonfunctional is not an enticing first impression. Not to mention the people out there to whom Steem rewards are significant income.

Is this the end of Steem, or just the end of Steem as we know it? If this hits the chain the answer will be pretty obvious, and if it doesn't it will be too.

If you ever see this, cheers my fellow Steemian!

With all the DDoS attacks, constant hardforks, and drama I can't say it's been boring!

steemit is not reliable. Try the other dApps. Steempeak, busy, esteem are all fine. I stopped using steemit almost a year ago and would not go back or recommend it to anyone.

It would probably be less painful :)

Yes, it is better, @a-non-e-moose. At least I get upvotes from the dApps when I post with them. And they look better and work better too :)

Oh wow. You're back @a-non-e-moose into posting on Steemit! yeyeye :)

I think this fork didn't go super smooth. Perhaps that's the reason. Anyway whenever I know that some fork will be introduced, I'm usually taking the day off from Steemit. Perhaps many others did the same ...

ps. Is there any way to DM you? telegram or discord maybe?

Yours
Piotr

I've heard that it went smoother than the last one anyway.

In regards to your post script, I have neither telegram nor discord. I'm really only on Steem as far a social media goes, and I just recently replied to one of your comments saying as much.

Do you happen to know of any dApps that implement encrypted transfer memos?

Cheers!

Late thank you for your reply @a-non-e-moose

I'm using https://helloacm.com/tools/steemit/wallet/ but i'm not sure how safe is it.

ps.
Check out my latest publication..
It brought some real emotions. I've been downvoted by over half million SP (attack of few accounts), however I also received solid support and few strong upvotes and now I will be enjoying the biggest genuine payout in my lifetime ;)

Yours, Piotr

Soon after writing this I learned that it's pretty routine to have outages, and read the news about how funds were safe and such.

Just thought I'd keep it. I took the time to write it after all, and it's a little funny to see me panic.

Enjoy!
