Steemit is powered by STEEM coin HOW DOES IT WORK?
Similar to Presearch rewarding searches with PRE tokens, users of Steemit can also earn (or purchase) digital tokens.

Posting — Steemit users create posts on a variety of topics. Engaging posts can be ‘upvoted’ by community members. There are some slightly complicated algorithms in place, but upvoted posts can receive a portion of the Steemit ‘rewards pool’.

Voting and curating — Upvoting a post (before it becomes popular) can also earn you rewards. Curation rewards will vary in the Steemit ecosystem.

Purchasing —Steemit users can purchase STEEM or Steem Dollar tokens directly through a Steemit wallet using bitcoin, Ether, or BitShares tokens. STEEM is also available through a number of other markets and exchanges some of which include, Binance, BlockTrades, and UpBit.

Vesting — Steemit users can also choose to ‘power-up’ their STEEM tokens to Steem Power and will earn a small number of new tokens for holding (think HODLing).
