where to go from here (conversation about the future of cryptocurrency)

so i know im a bit late to the game here but ive have been lurking around on steemit for the last two months just to see what can be made of it and i was surprised to see that even with no usage or postion on this site i have still managed to make around $5 doing nothing and from the looks of things this currency has very high potential for it right now. this is so simple to use and the potential to make money is always right around the corner just like any other one out there, but this one is different... ive looked into how bitcoin and ethereum both work and can see how they both influenced this one to take the best of both.

i love the website and think its nifty to have the social media powering this app and love how evolutionary it is. now i would really appreciate if any of you fellow steemers out there can maybe help me better understand this one because i cant figure out how this works in the background and would love to be able to wok on this platform and help out improving this network. also lets keep a nice little conversation started by asking you all what do you think is going to prevail from this big spike and how do you think the market is gonna look next week, month or year even.

ill start i have this crazy idea and i dont think that bitcoin is going to be the leading cryptocurrency in the next year or so. ethereum is blowing up right now and has a better platform to it than bitcoin, but bitcoin isnt going down yet i think it will hit $2000 before it comes down and then ethtereum (or mabe even steem!) will come up in the future to be crown the new coin of the internet
