I do have some Steem: I'm just not sure that it' s good idea to convert it into any #dollars, #power, #whatever other BS that's supposed to represent some value

Steem Power is just steem that you're not allowed to take out immediately in exchange for benefits....
You wouldn't ordinarily convert steem to steem backed dollars....
Once again it really doesn't sound like you know anything about the platform. You say you've been staking it, what do YOU think that means? You don't get anything just for having steem surely you know that right? But then you don't seem to know what steem power is.... so....
You're actually right, I don't understand how this platform works; the relationship between steem, steem dollars and steem power is very confusing. I thought that by holding the coin in a wallet for a while it might go up in value as the platform becomes more widespread, but this doesn't seem to be happening and in fact the coin price has a downward trend for 3 months. Anyway, thanks for clearing a few things up.
