To answer your question, @theycallmedan, I am still here for more reasons than I can name right now.

First off, I don't have a Twitter and have ceased using other social mediae at this time, and am not eligible for the upvotes.
Thank you for the generous offer :)

Writing this is kind of awkward for me because I don't usually speak up about the goings-on of the steemit. To be honest, the way this whole place actually "works" is above my head. Of course, everything with this firestorm of TRON, etc. etc. is a hot topic right now, and this thing can't be ignored. Like most of us, I can't predict the future of steemit as we know it. I want to see it continue to grow and thrive as it has been, but I just don't know where the cards will fall.

Here's what I do know: steemit is a place where people from all over the place, from all kinds of backgrounds come together - usually in a friendly spirit - to do something that contributes societal value, both on the blockchain and IRL.

When I joined in July 2016, I had no idea what this thing was about, not really. But as I started my time here, steemit became a place I seriously enjoyed coming to. I was exposed to so many different ideas and personalities here, so many back stories, dramas, hilarious anecdotes, the kind of shit that's hard to come by in other places. YES, there have been some bad times. We've had our wars, bad actors, and downright tragedies within the steemiverse. Our beloved steemit friends come and go, whence we know not, nor why. 'Tis a sad rainy cloud.

And yet, this whole thing we call, "steemit" is still here.

Some of us (so many of us) have had to take time away from posting and from steem over the years. But - and here's the part I love! - steemit has been here when we have come back. It's the long-time friend who loves you and always takes you back. (Well, that's how it has been for me, I can't speak for the spamians or anyone else really). Steemit is the sometimes-weird but usually awesome part of the internet that somehow feels like home. I have learned an enormous deal about expectations, consistency and transparency in my time here and for that I am ever grateful.

This is the first time I've posted anything quite like this, but it's an important subject and I want to throw in my two cents, for what it's worth.

Share your two cents and more in the comments, or better yet, make your Why Am I Here post. Thanks for reading, Everyone!
Peace!

I feel the same way! I'm done with the tensions of ownership, and discussions on decentralization. There are more important things going on for those with the heart to see it!

Wow, I'm so behind I think I passed myself again. So very well said. It is a wonderful place to mess about, that is for sure. And the people, such as yourself, make it all worth while. As we discussed previously, there is a lot of fluxuative coming's and going's by people, but the core seems to still stay on here. Take a break, return, write, repeat. Though I really can't talk, as I've not been able to get much done for awhile. But it is a blast on here, whatever the scheme. So, here's to the long-term come-back-er's and many more years of Steemit. Hope your weekend is a peachy one.

Until recently I haven't paid that much attention to the story line of steemit inc or the witnesses or other crypto's platforms because for us non-devs and non-programmers these kinds of topics can be hard to digest. It seems much more natural to focus on what most of us here do: create content. Regardless of what happens with all parties making the decisions about which direction this whole steem ship (ouch, bad pun) is heading, it has been an awesome ride! Always good to read one of your posts (comments are included as posts). Imaginary hat tipping to you, good day :)

Tip of the hat and likewisage too. I agree, and I like your pun too, no 'ouching' onto the rocks of regular discourse, just classic stuff. Cheers on a Monday of Clock Time Change messing with my body.
