Contant power supply from clean energy is what all humans should enjoy, regardless of race, location, status & income. No wonder Goal 7 of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) states to ensure

Affordable and clean energy

Joining steemit for my wife, @trendyents and I, @eugenecr7 was long overdue. After our several doubts and resistance to this beautiful platform, we joined leaving behind previous distractions.

Steemit is a social media platform with a difference . It requires lot of time for members to get involved in writing, reading, commenting, researching and following. Growth on this platform does not come easy and it requires a lot of hardwork which includes your consistent write up with creativity all geared towards building your followership and upvotes. These can only be achieved when you have constant electricity, to power up your devices.

In most parts of Nigeria, electricity is a mirage that does not come by easily. For you to have electricity, let alone constant power supply is almost impossible for those who are on grid.

So how can one blog on the steemit blockchain without electricity?

The need to have constant power supply arose to remain connected online with our devices(phones and laptops) fully charged, since it has become practically impossible for citizens to get constant electricity even with the high electricity bill charge after the government claimed to have spent billions of dollars on generating electricity and there is nothing to show for it.

Most times while chatting or we are on calls with our family members especially with @maryfavour who is schooling at Serbia running her Doctorate Degree program (our mentor on steemit), our phone goes off due to flat battery while taking lessons from her on steemit related matters as a result of long hours of calls with her.

She complained bitterly because this occurred over and over. She always said that we need to do something urgently about our electricity power issues but we thought it was immpossible. She made us to understand that to steem, we will need constant electricity supply to keep your device(s) alive, which we cannot achieve with the current state of electricity in Nigeria.

She (@maryfavour) learnt of a mobile company MTN that patnered with a solar manufacturing company and are selling to Nigerians/customers willing to purchase from them and asked us to verify how much it will cost to buy and install it in our home to facilitate constant electricity. She (@maryfavour) made a post about her intention to give @trendyevents some SBS to purchase lumos solar panel kit. Refere to

We made the findings and told her and she sent 20SBD for us to use to purchase the
Lumos Solar Panel and for the installation. This we did and have been enjoying uninterrupted power supply for almost three weeks.

Thanks to @MTN LUMOS!

MANY THANKS to @maryfavour!!

To keep enjoying this facility (lumos solar pannel) we need to be paying 5SBD as monthly subscription which varies according to the current exchange rate of steem for five years before we can have final ownership of the Lumos Solar Pannel.

How lumos solar power has helped us

  • Our phones our constantly fully charged.
  • We are able to steem uninterruptedly
  • We are happier now
  • We now earn more because we are able to make more creative post and remain online.
  • We are gradually establishing a steemit hub in our environment where other steemians can come and steem.
  • Darkness is a thing of the past.
  • It has no health hazard like premium motor spirit (PMS) generators, which emit carbonmonoxide fumes

Our recommendations

We are recommending all steemians from Nigeria to get the lumos solar panel to ensure stable power supply in their homes for regular steeming.

It is very absurd that the so-called 'giant of Africa' is lagging behind on this aspect of technology. Power is very vital for the development of any economy. A very good example is how the lack of steady power supply is limiting our productivity here on steemit. A lot of investors refuse to come and do business with us just for this same reason. I believe that if this issue is resolved, Nigeria is going to see an economic development of more than 70%.

@el-morenza, you have said it all. After thre billions of dollars invested by successive and the present government still not to show from it. All they do is propaganda. Lets make sure we get our voters card ready and vote out all the ass holes out of government. Enough is enough!

Wow, this is really cool.
Electricity in this my area is zero, i mean zero.
For the past 2year, there isnt a thing as electricity .

@rebeccafl, Do you mean for 2 years you have not had light where you live? Which country are you from? Pls if you are a Nigerian try to get lumos solar power kit to enable you steem regularly.
