Where are the curation rewards going?
Is it just me, or are curation rewards down a lot?
One of the great things about steem is it shows us the world as it is.
If you pull a string here, something over there moves, too.
When the maximizer whales were taking nearly all the rewards under the n2, there was no doubt about it.
When a whale votes, everybody else gets less.
Steem is a commons.
In this link you can see that my 30 day curation rewards are ~6x my 7 day rewards.
You can also see that 4x my 7 day rewards won't come close to hitting that 30 day number.
It looks, to me, that the maximizers have struck, again.
carlgnash tried to say that I had some beneficiary rewards that was doing it, but that doesn't explain what I see.
The curation rewards themselves are down, not just the total.
If you can explain this dramatic reduction in rewards, please do so.
Don't kill Batman!
While I got you on the line I want to address rewards that are being voted to people that are dumping.
If you are voting somebody that is not powering up, or holding, you are the sell pressure.
If you are voting on posts that have more than a couple stu, you are cutting your own throat.
If you want the distribution to get down to your level, and you vote on posts that get more than you, you are being counterproductive to your goal.
If you are voting your .003stu to a 30 stu post, stop it.
Give it to somebody that needs it to not round down, or has less than 2stu on their posts, imo.
Please start supporting people that are looking to grow their accounts.
Steem can be at its low, but not if you keep giving it to people that are dumping it.
The people that are selling today really need to be examined as to where their hearts are.
Are they here to help grow the place, or to scavenge?
Everybody makes more than me, it is impossible for me to vote people that make less becacse as soon as I click they make more! lol
Lol, and whose fault is that, young man?
You certainly present an edge case.
Maybe, IF you start putting out 'good' content, that will change for you.
I hope it does.
🙏😂🤙🤙
I think downvotes could lower the rewards for curators too.
Hmm, I doubt I vote many people that get downvoted.
I will have to look.
Thanks for the idea.

Some posts are allowed to not give curation rewards now. I noticed this a month ago and got an explanation from eonwarped here.

It seems I have noticed this happen since then on one of the D video posts as well.
Hmm, I will have to check, but I would doubt that many of the folks I vote for use likwid.
Though, those that get the most payout could be.
I know something is up.
I try to keep things as un-complicated as possible here in order to maintain a bit more sanity...and NOT try to figure out what's going on in an ever-changing environment where the MATH keeps being altered as well...
I'll just keep doing MY THING as I see fit, till I don't do it anymore :>) Life's sweeter that way my friend. ALL THIS can easily DISSAPEAR with the click of a few keys, or ONE click of the Mouse.
I'm glad I don't DEPEND on steem rewards for my wellbeing like some here do, or HOPE for...I feel for those who 'do', and angst over it as a result. I'm not ONE of those anymore...
Yeah, the drama here is higher than a backroom poker game with wives and houses in the pot.
It's to be expected this early in a game changing technology.
Future billions are riding on the changes to this math.
100 years from now, our grandkids will be soooo glad that we took the time to get some while the getting was good, imo.
By then it will cost much money to buy influence here.
We get the most steem per post now while the price is low.
When the market comes back getting 20 steem from a post will be unheard of, for most of us.
Keep your paper copy of your master key safe.
Crypto is coming, and it will be hard to beat free 3 second transactions.
You might be right about that, but as of now, we don't know what Cryptos are going to survive for our heirs to benefit from. A reason to grab a little stake in all of the coins/tokens I guess; but, that can get pretty expensive and the loss may outweigh the gains over time :>(
That's ONE way of trying to protect your holdings, but not as good as getting your keys 'off' the exchanges into a paper wallet...Whoever HOLDS the key, OWNS it.
Wasn't OpenLedger the latest example of locking-up/loosing/stealing or never having the coin in the first place? Or was that just a rumor?
Yep, not your keys, not your coins.
Diversification is a good idea.
I'm holding 4, right now.
Btc, bch, ltc, and steem.
Hopefully, one or all of them moons.
I'm with all of the above except for 'bch' :>) which I may dabble in soon. Not sure.
I got lucky with mine, it tripled and I took out half.
I'm down a little on what I put in, but six ounces of what I took out are in the change jar.
I'm up a few bucks on them, too.
Oh...well "six ounces" is almost a half pound, so that's a lot of bowls to flick your BIC at...
These are troy ounces.
That other stuff should be losing value pretty quickly.
4000 growers for 250,000 licenses and stuff will be sitting on the shelf for a while before long, iyam.
Without interstate commerce, it has no where to go.
