I am optimistic too Kabir and i will wait and see and i am sure it will be fun to watch, lol.
I think the new users is the problem now and without an easy account creation it will still remain a problem for long.

Unfortunately steemit inc are obsessed with SMT's, I can't see how creating more tokens helps expand the ecosystem when the number of users has flat lined. Finishing one thing is better than working on many new projects which look exciting. I am just glad I have other crypto's which are doing better.
Tokens are kind of dead also, lol. I think that stinc believes that the different communities who will adopt an SMT will start onboarding new users that eventualy will end up at steem. But i dont see it working, appics is a good example. As an app appics onboards a lot of new users by creating an acount for them, give them a username and a password and they start using the app. For as long as i follow appics, almost none of them moved to try steemit, i think almost none knows what steem is and that appics is part of it. I mean, some of them are getting rewarded with steem along with ARX tokens. Do they know that they have steem wallet aslo?lol
I think what steem needs is an easy account creation that will lead the user to the more complicated things in time and with the help of the community. Maybe a newcomer could create a new account like fb, make a profile, start voting but his votes will have 0 impact, commenting but his comments will be temporary and not recorded on blockchain, posting and receiving rewards which would be held until will make a proper account.
In this way a newbie will have the time to engage with the community with ease learn whats going, see his content get rewarded and maybe like the idea. Its totally no risk for both parties.
Unfortunately that's a basic problem that no body seems to investing serious time in solving. It was a glaring weakness two years ago when I joined and hasn't improved in that time.
Then again, we did moon to above $7 even with those problems back in 2017, so there maybe hope yet. It is still one of the easiest blockchains for users to create content and earn crypto.
