Stop The Whale Attacks - We're All Just People

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

UPDATE: The "whales" are completely out of hand and deserve all attacks. Just saw this completely bogus post - https://steemit.com/introduce/@meiisheree/introducing-myself-a-little-girl-and-her-story.

Sei whale and calf

It's not good for the community. Instead, just be consistent and you will eventually be rewarded.

Think about it. Once Steemit opens back up to new people what do we want them to see?

Don't expect to make anything here. Just contribute VALUABLE content. Help promote the good and weed out the bad.

If you get value from the community, stick around.

Sort:

Maybe new user accounts are disabled because the whales want us to get each other powered up a bit more before more new users come in and complain about not getting paid...

Not sure if it's true but someone said new user accounts were shutdown because hackers were using that method to get free Steem. I haven't seen that confirmed yet.

Are you suggesting that no one should say anything negative in fear of putting the community in bad light? That we should all self-censorship some to the newcomer, it looks like everything is rosy?

Nah, I think it's up to the system to offset the disparity between those with power and those power.

I agree that those who are initially vested should be rewarded but it is happening too fast if some people have already acquired absolute power.

The maths is completely wrong.

I'm saying expectations are all wrong and there are bunch of people complaining about it being unfair INSTEAD of just adding good content.

Honestly, blogs make money all the time. On the first post? Absolutely not! On the tenth? Not likely.

People will get rewarded by consistently putting content out that others like to see.

Instead, a lot of people have a lottery mentality and want an immediate payout just because it happened to others.

Updated the post. My mind has been changed after seeing more shenanigans.

Just saw your update. So a whale made a bait, upvoted it himself then transfer the SMD back into his account for MORE Steem Power?

Seriously, I didn't know this is so easy to rig. :D

I know. It's in a sad state right now.

I still see a lot of power in the steem blockchain but steemit is in disarray.

Sorry no agree, we are a comunity and we should speak about how to improve this project, and speak about how the reward system works is really needed

Maybe, but there has to be a better way. The reason I wrote this is I saw one guy make three posts in a row whining. It's a poor effort at best to get noticed.

Perhaps the Slack channel is better to discuss it?

Yes, probably slack is the place to do, you are right

I don't know where the best place is. Maybe the current way is fine.

I'm coming around to agree with you after seeing more whale abuse.
