My letter to CCN and Joseph Young appears to have paid off!
Joseph Young is now on Steemit and is planning on writing a piece about Steem and Steemit in the very near future!
Talk about a favorable outcome!
If you aren't familiar with what I am talking about, it all started last week when CCN wrote about the Chinese Government putting out their independent blockchain rankings.
More about that can be found here:
The article seemed to take issue with the rankings, specifically bitcoin being all the way down at number 13 and also with Steem being all the way up at number 2.
The article was written by Joseph Young, a talented writer/reporter from Hong Kong whom I have followed quite a bit in the crypto space.
However, myself and many others in the Steem community took a bit of an issue with some of the criticisms aimed at Steem that were not entirely accurate.
Which lead me to pen this open letter to Joseph and CCN:

I wasn't sure whether it would eventually get to him or not, but it looks like it did!
The next day in the comment section of the post, I saw this response:
Not only did my post make it all the way to him, but in response to it he decided to look into Steem and Steemit, interview Ned Scott, and write up a piece about it some time in the near future!
I'd say that was about as favorable of an outcome as I could have ever hoped for.
What's more, he actually decided to create his very own Steemit account as well!

Feel free to give him a follow and a nice big warm welcome when he does decide to do his first post on here!
Perhaps we can even convince him to start writing some of his great original content on Steemit first. :)
Looking forward to reading his next write-up as it relates to Steem and Steemit.
Judging from his comment, it looks like we can start looking for his write up about Steem and Steemit in CCN sometime within the next week or so.
It was nice to see that our posts on here can have some reach outside of just our little ecosystem we have here.
Stay informed my friends.

Thanks for calling him out on his Steem errors 🧐
It would be cool if his write up helps get the word out a bit more about steem and steemit. Also should help clear up some confusion surrounding the project.
great job @jrcornel. Glad to see that Joseph was receptive to your constructive criticism. Another way to look at it is that you did his job for him: you wrote the content he needs to update his article.
More importantly, he will take it a step further by interviewing @ned and will contribute to our community with his own steem account!
I look fwd to his intro post!
I could not have said it better @liotap! Thank you @jrcornel for this and your continued efforts to support Steem/Steemit.
Absolutely stunning work you’ve done here to actually make him make the next step to create an account and open a dialogue, this is how you truly onboard users by changing mindsets and demonstrating potential! Seriously great work here man
Thanks and yes, good point. See what the next week brings.
I messaged Joseph Young on twitter with a link to your article on May 18 and he was very receptive. Great work!
Perfect, thank you!
Great job. Maybe we should target all the writers? There was a time in 2016 when they all were creating accounts. Let’s get that back again!
Very well done! Steemit users like you are the key players in boosting the community!
The power of a community and the influence of blockchain and transparency!

You are the man @jrcornel, taking it to him head on. It's users like you who make things happen as they should. Well done sir.
