RE: Leaving Steemit 😔

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

Fair enough. However it is well known by all that Steem is 'sold to the masses as' decentralized which it is clearly not. At any rate the system is badly broken. What they seem to fail to recognize is due to the complicated nature (learning curve) of blockchain, and the fast pace of most of today's youth. As everything is mostly instant.. likes, uploads, shares, sign ups <-- all other platforms are instant.. people want quick and fast, not to mention easy. So back to my point.. running off the few extremely passionate Steemians (who are well versed in blockchain, and have gotten past the sign up/learning curve..) for trivial reasons, while getting barely any new sign ups is a very bad idea. Things like these 'flag crawls' akin to pub crawls.. is putting the focus on the wrong thing. Even if some mean well.. the platform is dying.. the current users should be lifted up.. and made to want to stay in a welcoming environment.. instead of being ran off, told off, accused, defamed, smeared, picked on, bullied, flagged, harassed... some of these people are / were the best Steem recruiters/supporters out here. I know the lady that had this account before me was one of them. At any rate.. decentralized or not.. the focus of this platform is all wrong.. it could have been a wonderful thing. Was it poor coding? Human greed? A broken system? All of the above that drowned Steem? Who can say for sure. But at any rate.. it is "loosing steam"... not enough new sign ups, too many bullies chasing loyal Steemians off.. and the few new people that join get attacked by an onslaught of "Steem Flag Rewards" Flags in a massive trail of people doing it do earn a few extra cents.. meanwhile that new Steem user, who may or may not have made an actual mistake, may have had the potential to have brought us more users, more referrals, other investors.. but instead show up.. get what they will see as "attacked" by a hoard/mob.. and chased off.. do you think they will run to a friend and say "hey man join this wicked site" or not refer Steem because they will be left feeling they just walked into some kind of fucked up cult like mob behavior.. this place literally feels like Lord of the Flies.. Steem is dying.. weather you or I like it.. or want to admit it.. it is dying.. Thank you for your comment bro.

Peace.
