Don't Throw in the Towel - Ride the Steem Wave
Greetings my friend. I want to share some words of encouragement with you today as we talk about posting on Steem.
Normally, when users get started on Steem, they are excited and full of high expectations. Those feelings are sometimes replaced with negative emotions such as frustration, anxiety, or even anger.
The reason for that is because newcomers are not getting the results they want from their posts. They heard from a friend that they can earn rewards on the content they post, but have hit a wall and realized that isn't always the case. Or, perhaps they try to build a following but find that the numbers are not building quickly enough.
If that's you right now, I'd like to shine a light in the darkness here and encourage you to do one thing...KEEP POSTING.
You have to understand and look at the bigger picture here. Social media and cryptocurrency are two things that are not going away. So, when you have a platform that combines those two technologies together, you have a powerhouse that cannot be stopped.
It is imperative to understand where the future of Steem is headed. Steem right now is only in it's infancy. At the time of creating this vlog, it is only 2 years old. I want you to think back when Instagram or Facebook got started. They both started out small then grew over time.
We have something special here on Steem. We have a community of entrepreneurs and content creators who are passionate about making a difference. We have a cryptocurrency that has the highest number of transactions compared to any other cryptocurrency according to https://blocktivity.info.
If you have been on Steem for less than a couple months, then you are most likely trying to figure out the basics of posting. That is perfectly normal because Steem has a rather steep learning curve. Again...KEEP POSTING. You will get better as you go along.
The worst thing you could do is to wait until your content is perfect to post it. There is no such thing as perfect so simply move forward imperfectly. I was horrible when I first got started and have improved over time through continual posting.
I mentioned earlier that Steem is still in its infancy. There is a bright future ahead, and I encourage you to ride the wave. Now is not the time to throw in the towel and give up. In fact, starting to build your profile now will pay off HUGE for you and many others in the long run.
You have to look at this as a long-term investment of your resources. Posting on Steem needs to become a natural activity that you do throughout your day. Each time you are doing an activity throughout your day, ask yourself how you can incorporate it into Steem. Get creative and post your content in differing formats.
I'll be honest, there have been times where I've wanted to quit. But guess what...I'm still here! Nothing is going to stop me from achieving my goals as a content creator on Steem. The same goes for you my friend. You have big dreams and big goals that require your participation to accomplish.
Don't allow discouragement, fear, anxiety, or frustration to get in the way of your destiny. Stay in the game and do not lose heart. If you ever start to feel overwhelmed or frustrated, please reach out to me. I'm serious. Mention @kenmelendez in a post or in a comment, and I will do my best to respond to you and help you through the hard times.
Moral of the story....don't quit on yourself or on this amazing community we are all part of. Find your voice here in the place I call home. People want to hear your voice. I want to hear it as well.
Thank you so much for tuning in to today's vlog. I love you friend, I care about you, and I appreciate you more than you know.
Until next time, remember...You Are Awesome!
Take care my friend.
-Ken

I totally agree with you my friend !
Expectations are not good to success on longterm.
Like you've said it, we need to keep going on and on untill we see the results we are looking for.
In the meantime we are connecting with awsome people like you and can get pushed by your top posts !
Nice to have you here around and hopefully I can watch your videos and read your posts still in 60 years :D
@tibfox you're the coolest!! Connections are key here on Steem. Haha hopefully we are both still around 60 years from now. Perhaps the Lord will come back by then who knows.

Thank you for writing this post @kenmelendez. Words of encouragement are always welcome. Not sure one can receive too many ...
I have just started to follow you, after reading this post. Taking you up on the above, my primary frustration after my first month of real activity is return on the investment of the time invested in writing posts.
If you are willing to read my (at least glance through it) most recent post, Engaged, then I would welcome constructive feedback on moving forward. "The good, the bad, and the ugly."
I think you have good intentions, so don't hold back.

Very encouraging post. I'm new to the platform. I'm in the event production business as well as a DJ, event coordinator, and a hard working man. I really enjoy the content on this platform as opposed to Facebook. I'm not going anywhere for quite some time and I hope this pays off as well as it does for the big fish. Have a nice day my friend thanks for the great post!!
@djimpulse I truly appreciate your input here. Event production is full time work that’s for sure. Glad to see you on this platform...your commitment will pay off 🙌🏻

I actually see this downside of steem value as an opportunity. I have invested this days all free cash to steemit. If I had more believe I would. I do believe this is a great community. It is not easy and it can be frustrating, but I think it has a good value and future. Do not fret it will be huge in the end!!!
@triablot absolutely! This community is incredible to say the least. Keep your head up and look for the good in all situations. Hold on tight to that God-given dream and vision that you have inside of you. You are meant for great things!
-Ken
I quit on the platform once and am back into it. I'll see where this takes me.
Yes! Jump back on that horse and start riding. Your future awaits @feelsomoon!

Agreed! The down times on Steem are the best opportunity to prepare for the pumps!
Yes, I fully believe that @jerrybanfield. I get excited when the price drops so I can invest at a lower cost.

That's great motivation for a Wednesday morning, thank you.
You're welcome @gmichelbkk glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks for the word of encouragement. I came to this platform with certain goals which is yet to achieve but I'm not perturbed because I believe with time things will change for the better.
Belief is key @nonz. You must believe in yourself first or else no one else will. Take charge and take action!
-Ken
Thanks for this post Ken. I think it’s really good to keep your eye on the horizon and think about where the platform will be in two years. That can help with motivation as we go through our mundane, daily tasks. Thanks again!
You got it @boity! We must endure the challenging times in order to celebrate in victory at the end :)
