RE: Why Did We Choose This Path?

in #steem5 years ago

See for yourself:

The companies announced Friday that Tron and Steem developers will jointly be looking into migrating Steem products and users to the Tron network, and ultimately swapping the STEEM token for a new Tron-based version.

No timeline for this migration was presented.

He was talking about migrating all apps and users to Tron and swapping STEEM for a TRC10 token (on a centralized network he was the dictator of).

Sort:

This is an author's interpretation not the original company statements, and the author is making a common mistake of mixing up Steem and Steemit, but if you look at Ned's statement quoted in the article it clearly says "Steemit," and owner's of Steemit and other dapps have a right to migrate those specific platforms to network of their choice.

It seems to me that you made a mistake....

You can't buy people.

what you must have meant is: You can't buy all the people.

From those who are arguing in his favour, as if they were eager to be placed under controls by the chinese govt, as happens to all chinese platforms, since free speech is not allowed, it seems we have many left leaning whales who think in favour of communist rules, but do not care about the small fish.

I am glad to have read the points you made, even if I have come in a bit late in my support.

By the way, the soft fork was not created to fight justin, it was done to prevent him from having sole say over our future as a community. The witnesses who did it still have my support (even those I do not like)
:)

Exactly.

I don't think their numbers are that great but they do exist. Some may have been tempted by the money. The Chinese government seems to be much more interested in blockchain technology than Western governments. I wonder why that is. Do they take it somewhat seriously as a threat to their rule? Are they thinking about ways to co-opt it to serve their needs and in doing so pervert its purpose?

I am glad to have read the points you made, even if I have come in a bit late in my support.

Thank you.
