Same old bloggers at the top of the trendings page!!!!steemCreated with Sketch.

Some bloggers even have two post in the top 20.

These bloggers justify their position because they think this platform is all about quality articles and that's what gives Steem value.

IMO, Steem would be more valueable if the reward pool were more evenly spread out. At the current price of Steem, I can't see any of these blogs I read worth more than $30 or so.

The whales are up to their old tricks by upvoting the same old same old with this ridiculously unfair, weighted non linear rewards curve.

The average investor is already annoyed about this and I, for one, am loosing patience. IMO, it is imperative that Hard Fork 17 addresses this curation curve weighting issue.

Let's face it, this platform gets it's value, not from the 'amazing' articles you can read here or anywhere on the net for that matter, but from the amazing graphene technology and lightning speed blockchain.

I have been an outspoken critic of Dan for just leaving but his superior blockchain technology and it's potential is the reason I'm here, along with the community atmosphere. The community atmosphere comes from the interaction from comments as opposed to the highly overvalued article. The sooner the reward pool for comments is implemented the better IMO.

For any community to thrive long term the system needs to be percieved as fair. I currently do not have that perception!

Don´t you think (see) that the experiment has improved the distribution of rewards considerably? If you just observed the trending page, you´d find out that the tail has grown longer and a lot of minnows are capatilizing their content now. I believe we can´t expect miracles here. The platform is evolving constantly. Most of the changes that will be implemented through HF17 are ideas that were pushed by the community itself. This is a long term project, and I think we are doing quite well so far.

Agree with all of this, just a bit annoyed to see the same bloggers trending again with 'travel the world' blogs etc and 2 bloggers with 2 articles each in the top 20. Seems like the experiment might have ended although my vote is still worth something so not sure about that.

I just got flagged twice by smooth (his bot), so it´s definitely running still :)
Don´t be annoyed by things like that. It won´t change a thing. I am here since July 2016 and haven´t been a lot of times on trending yet. But you know what: I don´t care. I´m just having fun. You should do the same :)

Agreed again, Let's hope we don't rely on flagging to even the playing field though long term. If the algorism was better designed there would be no need for the experiment. Hats off to abit and smooth for their efforts to attempt to bring a fairness to platform though. They are clever enough to realise that this approach is the only way to try to protect their investment going forward I feel.

I think the problem is autovoting services. I don't use them and think they are more hurtful than useful. If you really like the content that is being published, then actually read/view it and then vote. Putting people on autovote lists is simply throwing money at them no matter the quality they produce.

That is just me though. I understand if that is an under appreciated point of view but think about it. Do you subscribe to things elsewhere and pay money without at least checking it out from time to time to make sure you are getting your moneys worth? Why do that here on Steemit?

I'm not against the autovote as a rule, the whales can, afterall, give a small % of there vote to a post and vote more times without using their allocated voting power. They have a right to earn curation rewards for their investment, it's just this ill concieved weighted formula and the fact they often use 100% voting power for one post that is destroying things.

Agreed, but a whale will only survive if there are enough fish. Annoying the minnows so they decide to look for new seas will leave the whales hungry.
