Fell From The Sky - The Reinvention Of A Human
First Post.
Despair, Hunger, Loss, Amputation, Disconnection, Seperation, Solitude, Realisation, Change, Self, Love, Passion, Learn, Optimism, Future.
The list could go on and on and I don't see why it shouldn't, seeing as life continues on and on.
I've been to hell and back, plenty of it self made, however the one thing I can share is that if you search hard enough and give yourself the necessary tools to help slow things down, find out where you are, love yourself, warts and all, give yourself a chance, whether it is recovering from depression or seperation or abuse or any of the myriad different human condition's, if you learn to believe in your inherent good nature, self worth you can and will change from the inside and become whatever it is you need to be to survive in this world.
I was 52 this year and have been through the loss of both parents, my best friend, two business's, my marriage, my house and effectively my two children, all in the last few years. While I have occasionally despaired, stopped eating, drank to excess to numb the pain I have recently started to come through all of this, seen a glimmer of hope and moved forward with my existence.
Briefly, I'm from Ireland, have spent the last seven years in Sri Lanka and have recently moved back to Berlin in Germany.
I am returning to education and have been accepted into a college to do a diploma course with a view to moving on to the degree course next year.
I can't say it has all been easy, it can be lonely in a new city, but its also exciting.
I'm trying online dating for the first time in my life, more of which later.
I've lately been buying some crypto-currencies, learning the piano and working on where it is I want to be in the next few years.
It's been a roller-coaster, with a lot of downs but the ride seems to be moving in an upward trajectory.
I believe writing about it is cathartic and even if only one or two people get anything positive out of learning about my journey through life, see that it is possible to slowly get through the awful times and find a new purpose in life, well that will be quite enough!
