Thanks for your article. I had given up on SteemIt already but I decided to give it another go.
I had 170 SP at one point but I powered down because of those darned flag wars last year. My account was virtually killed during that time.
Anyway, I had just started posting again and, despite my content being a crap, I was slowly recovering. I admit I was not posting anything special since I saw no point in putting up much effort as my posts were all hidden.
Then, this week, Haejin decided to recover my account. In a few minutes my rep went from negative values to 40!!! Even I was shocked!
And all because I posted a funny gif. What!?
This gave me an incentive to start using the site again and I will be working on improving the quality of my posts.
So, I guess I can stop posting funny gifs and other mindless things... All thanks to Haejin!
Now, the goal is to get back to where I was, with almost 200 SP.
You will reach your goal mitrado. I promise you!
Thanks for your kind assistance!
i hear that. im at the point of quitting myself. i went all in when i started, bought $3k worth of steem and powered up. that $3k is now worth $900. time to start pulling it out to cover bills that arent mine. all because some 'friends' decided not to pay rent for 6 weeks. but i wont bore you with my woes.
probably should send this 40 sbd to trex so i can eath this week. jussayin
Financially, I had luck... I've powered down between November and April. Still, hang on there. We all know these things are cyclical. Hold on to your Steem / SBD and don't sell at a loss.
I saw my 200 SP becoming $3500 in December and now it's roughly 10 times cheaper. Now it is not the time for selling. At all.
i earn $300/w and my rent is $400/w - you do the math
Damn, how can the rent be higher than your salary!?
i had a 'friend' run off owing 6 weeks rent. so have to repay the debt i was left with. half the reason ive been at the point of giving up recently. did a post about it a while back
Honestly, that's the first time I've ever heard haejin spoken of in a positive light.
I commented on one of his posts very early on and was met with a storm of downvoted from people that didn't like him. So I steered clear for the longest time. Didn't wanna get caught up in someone else's war.
That's what happened to me, as well. Some whale decided Haejin was not worthy of posting on SteemIt and started attacking not only Haejin but also anyone who supported him.
I had pretty much gave up on SteemIt because of that episode of bullying.
However, for some reason, Haejin decided to upvote my posts and my reputation was restored, so now I am giving this a second chance.
Hopefully it will be better this time.
Hope you have a good experience here :) I love steem.
Your story makes me have a bit less disdain for whales. But I'm not a huge fan of anyone that upvotes their own posts to trending.
Ah, ah. I saw @haejin start as a regular user and become a whale. That's when all hell broke loose. That's what attracted the bullies. 😝
