Bugs in the Steemit.com Interface - Profile picture bug, Text Justification Bug and Upvote Value Bug
Hello everyone!
Today I am here to share bugs in the user interface of Steemit.com. I am encountering this issue from the last a few days. This bug is related to the profile picture loading.
I have explained the issue by recording the video for the better understanding of the bug which is occuring while loading the profile picture on the posts. The profile picture is working fine in the profile section but it is lagging behind on the posts card. In the video we can see that a blur picture is showing at the place of the post section. I refreshed the page many times but the issues remained there. So I decided to share it with team and witnesses for its better cure.
Another bug which I observed in the interface is of upvote value display.
At first the vote worth or value was showing correctly but when I was voting the value was looking awkward. The upvote value was changing to more decimals. As you can see in the above screenshots.
Here you can see the issue related to text justification. I am investigating this issue and if I get any solution to this problem I will surely share it here. If a user write more than one paragraph then the user will need to add justification tag to each paragraph which is not user friendly.
If I am writing 20 paragraphs then I need to add text justification tag 20 times. It is not making sense. I hope the witnesses will work on it to find out the bugs and I will also assist while investigating this issue deeply.
I was facing these issues but I did not get time to publish it to the community for the better cure. I recorded profile picture bug video around 5 days ago but due to the busy schedule I was unable to publish but today I have gotten time to share these bugs here.
@the-gorilla - any of these that you can resolve?
I don't think there's much to resolve...
The profile picture loading for some posts and not others (all for the same author) makes no sense. Once the image is downloaded once, all of the other places that it's used on the screen would use the image cahced in the user's browser. So for it to load in some places on the screen and not on others suggests to me that something else is interfering with the page. I would say with a fairly high level of confidence that this is a local issue related to this user's set up - whether that's browser, internet, plugin or something else, I'd have no way of knowing.
As @moecki suggests, the additional decimal place happens when a translator is used on the page. Why? At the moment, I have no idea. I'd have to look into this.
With the justification of text, the issue is with the class being used. The correct class is
text-justify
and notjustify
. To demonstrate this, I've wrapped this entire comment in a singlediv
with thetext-justify
class.I have used correct tag. Moreover I am near to disclose this issue of text justification. And I will tell you soon when I will get time for the explanation.
Ah yes, my mistake.
The reason is because you've included a video. The code will automatically wrap the video in its own div but before it does this, it closes any unclosed divs. So your "text-justify" will be closed before the video and won't be reopened.
Yes this is the major reason. How I actually configured it out? So the answer is that I accidently cut the video URL and the text justification worked for all the available text in the post.
It was by chance but I did it again to check if it was happening just because of the video addition. So after the double check I became very sure it was just because of adding a video link in the post input field.
But the question is that how can we fix this issue of closing the div with the addition of the video link. Because sometime we have to use video links. Is there any solution for this problem?
There probably is a solution but I doubt the benefit would justify the effort required. Yes, the pun is intended.
Good to know that there is the solution. And I hope you will do it and put efforts while maintaining it. Best wishes.

The decimal problem sometimes appears when I use a translator that translates the whole page. Do you use a translator or something similar what rewrite the page?
Since the profile picture only sometimes does not display properly, I would suspect a problem with the display driver. In any case, I have not been able to reproduce this.
You are right but I have never faced this problem or I don't know if any other user has, I think he has some problem with his browser or some problem with his display driver.
Yes I have gotten your point related to the upvote value. And I have tried it again and it behaved same while enabling the Google Translator but at that time I was upvoting using my mobile phone while exploring the contest tag and in mobile the translator was offline.
And yes profile picture issue does not appear all the time it appears sometimes.
And what are your thoughts about the next issue of text justification.
Can you share the text sample here for which the justify not work, I am pretty sure it was relate to other div tags you using.

I would suggest raising a issue here: https://github.com/steemit/condenser/issues/new
Thank you for providing this.
I have been using it for a long time but I have never seen any problem in it. I just saw this bug issue. for the first time I have seen this. it ok from me .
Yes the issue seems sometimes not all the time. Thanks for the confirmation. That was why I recorded the video because no one will believe theoretically.
Yes of course but we have to work on solving this problem.
